hello, to simply play with a friend require a paid server?
because I see solo “SOLO/CO-OP”

It doesn’t require a paid server, you can host a server or a co-op game yourself. You would have to conigure your firewall, however, to allow your friend to join your game or server if they were not on your local network.
Either that or both join an Official, or a private server hosted by someone else. It wouldn’t just be you and your friend, though.
