Frost Giant untameable (can't be knocked out)

Frost Giant can’t be knocked out. Once his consciousness bar reaches zero he just stands there. As per patch notes “You can now tame Frost Giants and scorpions.”

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Use steel truncheon + advanced blunting kit
  2. Hit giant repeatedly till health drops drastically
  3. Wait for health to regen (so he doesnt die)
  4. Continue to bludgeon him
  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 till his consciousness bar is zero
  6. End up with zombie giant, just stands there

Note I am using a few mods, but have never had any issues knocking things out before.

PS Just heard rumours that they are not actually tameable even though It is stated in patch notes as quoted above, but that they can drop as loot from somewhere (I am guessing new dungeon maybe)

Can anyone confirm if its loot? Took me hours to get this sucker’s consciousness bar to zero! Patch notes does state they are tameable and not that they are loot.

To tame the frost giant you have to get a horn to summon one not knock one out

I see no mention of a horn to tame something in patch notes. Simply states they are now tameable as are scorpions. That indicates its a normal tame not some new mechanic. They should have said you can now summon a frost giant, not “tame” them.

Yeah. They don’t always list what they mean. Can look up on YouTube how to obtain them properly

Poorly written patch notes…oh well. Thanks a lot for replying. @moderator should change the patch notes to “summon frost giant” so no one else wastes 2hours to try and knock one out.

well, you don’t summon it technically, you loot it and you place it :slight_smile:
