Frustration and discouragement with this unplayable game

I can’t walk anywhere that has a built base, it starts an absurd lag or the game just crashes and I need to close and open it again, yesterday I was playing with a friend, his game crashed while he was riding a horse, he died because the player continued straight after the game crashed and got stuck on pegs, after closing the game and coming back, his body loot just disappeared and he lost everything he had, you guys managed to make the experience very frustrating and unplayable despite a community that consume and try to enjoy this game to the fullest.

Update: I was trying to play now, exploring the north and the game crashes, it gave blue screen, I died on the spot and I can’t log in again because the game of the blue screen every time I try to enter the server again, it’s worse than ever, I’m probably going to lose all my items, thanks funcom.

I have a similar problem since yesterday. I had a blue screen walking past another player’s large building. Until now, I can’t start the game, keep getting a blue screen or the game won’t load. I have no idea what to do :woman_facepalming:t2: A few days ago I lost everything because my grave disappeared after I got the blue screen and my character stumbled onto the spikes in another player’s building :woman_shrugging:t2:

Multiple deaths attributed to rubber banding in Exiles on Official Server tonight.

Almost died at level 60 with middlingly decent gear to a single grey wolf, what do they have like 400hp I have over 500hp it was 50/50 which way it was gonna go.

Lots of problems with the game, lots of ridiculous builds, that after 2 years of online play I know enough to avoid.

PLEASE fix SOLO MODE, so that if your online OFFICIAL sites are buggy as hell we can still enjoy the amazing work you have put 5 plus years into perfecting,
before this visually stunning abortion of an update threw everything to sh*t.

Fix SOLO MODE, the online game is currently unplayable.

I have massive respect for what the Devs almost pulled off, the reworked attributes, the graphics, the skins, it looks amazing, if they last another year or two to work it all out it will be great.

The managers pushing the timelines screwed up this console launch.
Welcome to the Goat Rodeo, Good luck Funcom.

@TeleTesselator
Absolutely Torchlight II is fantastic, and was just on sale on PS4. Lots of options, Shadow of Mordor, Shadow War is Amazing, also on sale this month. DarkSiders all series, and Witcher 3. And when you buy those titles, the games work, they are not untested beta versions that update and break the game.

Forced server merges/transfers, multiple level 60 characters with recipes from both maps failed to load, multiple level 60 characters with recipes from both maps uploaded and disappeared, lots of growing pains…

And now rubber banding every bit as bad as at Siptah’s launch,
and now the SOLO game is broken in new and interesting ways.

Thanks for the reply @TeleTesselator , I freaking LOVED this game, would have kept buying every damn DLC they made. Too bad their pricing model stopped working for them.

still pulling for you Funcom…just from slightly farther away,
come on guys!

Yesterday I was on official #3033, admired another player’s huge building, game freezes. I’m reloading and can’t move, stuck like a rubber band. No matter where, official servers, private servers or single player, as soon as one or two buildings with 5x5 foundations are in place the game starts to lag extremely in all ways.

I’m having fun in Steelrising, Wolcen - Lords of Mayhem (Bloodtrail), Hades, and Torchlight II. I dunno if those are on PlayStay but…

You mean: “Middle-earth: Shadow of War”? Yeah, that’s a nice game! The 3-year earlier “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor” wasn’t as good IMO they messed up a few of the systems from the original. They corrected this in Shadow of War though thankfully.

Have had this exact thing happen which resulted in not touching the game in disgust for months afterwards.

Yeah, sometimes if your satisfaction isn’t exceeding your frustration with a game, it’s better to take a break. For me it hasn’t happened with CE to that extent but it did with ESO for example… a few others in the past too.

So my base on Siptah got wiped by Funcom today, WHILE I WAS ONLINE. I returned after dying and not being able to spawn on my bed. I had just been to my base to drop a named sorcerer in the wheel then ventured out a short while prior. Returned to grab a thrall to fight for my body to loot my stuff and it was entirely gone. All fighter thralls still present, but everything gone, crafters, etc. My issue here isn’t so much the large base being wiped (that worked fine PRIOR to 3.0), but that Funcom finds it easier to wipe a base without notice to the players (even when online playing) than fix the damn game. The problem isn’t the base, it’s the developers’ lack competence. Come on now… I was there with zero issues for over a year and a half and NOW someone gets upset because they likely lagged out at my base. The biggest frustration is that it likely was reported by a newer player that will more than likely quit the game in a month.

@jmk1999 You got that right

Why would your base getting wiped have anything at all to do with developer competence? Wouldn’t that be player competence or at least player awareness? Or even if you wanna shift the blame then Admin competence, fairness, whatever…

Also are you sure Funcom actually wiped it? I guess if they did then tomorrow you will find yourself banned as well?

Also why are you hijacking this thread for your BS?

It has to do with the fact that there were no crashing problems prior to the 3.0 update. People complain that the bases are causing crashes, but it’s the update and lack of optimization. I’m not hijacking it if you actually considered the root of the problems. Funcom can’t optimize the game properly with every LARGE update. The same thing occurred with Exiled Lands when Siptah was released. Now with Sorcery, Funcom broke the game again for consoles, and PlayStation in particular. Any smaller update between siptah and sorcery bore little affect on overall playability, especially for PS5 players.
