Funcom could have saved Conan PVP with active GM admins

My take is that Conan PVP servers could have been saved by Funcom hiring active GMs to admin the servers.

Obviously this game is way past saving at this point. Unless they actually hired GMs and then made the game free to play, the player base on the PVP servers is going to stay dead.

When did gaming companies decide that GM’s arent worth the investment anymore, and why?

So like paying (with all benefit expenses) around $80-100k/year X #of official PVP servers? Do you seriously think you spent that much to get this to offset the expense and make it profitable?

I really dont think we pay enough for funcom/tencent execs to make what they make either, but they make it. so i dont see your point…

I would have done that voluntarily at some point. I think giving some administrative roles to trusted community members would be a good way to keep in touch with and engage the community.
On the other hand, Funcom might be too big for this kind of indie dev behavior.

A 4 day week 32 X $14 hour= $440 a week by 3 shifts $1320
A 3 day wee 21 x $14 hour= $249 a week by 3 shifts $747

That is $2067 a week PER SERVER. I’d bet Conan exiles doesn’t make that in a year from the players on said server.

Just how much do you think Conan makes funcom in a month?

unless youre an accountant working for funcom i dont see how throwing numbers in here makes any sense. Do you know how funcoms budget works? Do you really think EVERY server needs active GMs? Yall out here simping for big corporations is just wildddd

no, nobody is simping for Funcom in this forum anymore…
your idea is simply unreasonable. A complete pipedream to be clear.
You really don’t need to be an accountant for Funcom to realise that your idea is absurd, not only because the people actually still playing PVP do it despite its shortcommings.
I already know you will rage over my comment, but that won’t change the fact that your idea is neither a good one nor a feasable one.

i said could have, as in past tense. the game is dead now i even said that in in my initial post lol. thanks anyway tho!

still simping from where im sitting :face_blowing_a_kiss:

no dude…it would have been an absurd idea in any case. Way out of any reasonable budget and even scope for CE.
You must be a special kind of snowflake to double respond within 5 minutes. Seems you get easily triggered when somebody points out your ideas are simply BS.

keep simping bud

at least you are consistent with your delusions…

Lets start off with I’m a funcom detractor, ask anyone. But I also live in reality.

I tried to explain to you just how impractical your suggestion is financially.
I’m sorry the numbers confused you.

Do you?

That was ONE server. I’m saying funcom wouldn’t make enough from the players on ONE server in a year to pay for active admin for a week.

:100:

No game with over 8K regular players is dead.

Are you another one of those people that like being wrong all the time?
You’re quite good at it.

In a broke down gaming chair in mamma’s basement?

“simping”

ohhh i get it. yall are pve players. your simping makes way more sense now. anyone who plays PVP knows this game has been dead for some time.

Oh please define simping for us, I want you to be wrong again. Bacause half the respondents are hard core PVP players.

:face_blowing_a_kiss:

Thanks for proving I’m right makes my day.

PVP is so dead

ok, why did you make that post then? Why even hang around the forum of a game you consider dead? Are you simping for Funcom?
Also, is PVP dead because of lack of moderators/GMs or rather because balance was abandoned years ago? The complete screw-up of Funcom towards their core gameplay are responsible for more nails in the coffin of CE PVP than “cheaters”, but honestly, I think by now you were motivated to make this post by a player who simply was better than you on a PVP server and you thought he was cheating or something along that line.

I don’t agree with OPs approach but I have some sticklers here…

I agree that perhaps balance did play a part at the beginning and possibly could have been accepted. It was overshadowed by hacking, offlining and for Officials report abuse.

I’m guessing you made a typo on that one because this game IS free to play.
But I tell you what:
Make the game accessible by paid subscription, then they might be able to hire GMs.
However, since this game is a sandbox and nowhere close to being an MMO, I seriously doubt it will ever go to “Pay to play”.

But if that really wasn’t a typo, you have got a lot to learn.
