@Mood Yeah but thing is , not all survival games has proper mod support, like Client side skin mod… ( like ARK for example)
Meaningless because I play on PS4. And with how Funcom is going, I don’t see giving them any more money for the PC version, just to fix things with mods.
So, in my case, I’m stuck with anything Funcom breaks in favor of the PvP players, unless they stick in sliders to balance things properly for single players.
Honestly, while Dune sounds like it’d be fun, I’m just not sure I trust Funcom to be able to work it right. I see the game ending up like Conan Exiles. They’ll try to focus too heavily on the PvP/Social aspects and ruin the single player while doing so.
It could go either way. People often forget that Conan Exiles was basically the dying gasp of a company that was about to go bankrupt. Even under normal circumstances, game development is an unholy mess, but when you’re working on a last-ditch effort it gets worse. I’m convinced that the problems that plague this game are a result of technical debt that grew to unfixable proportions, but that doesn’t mean Dune will have to suffer the same fate.
Maybe, maybe not. I doubt I would get it until it had been out for a couple years, and was on sale somewhere, regardless.
Unless something comes along that can prove they can adequately balance the game. Which isn’t likely to happen.
If it comes down to solo or group, they are going to favor groups for the online/social aspects. And if there is PvP, which it probably will have, then that will likely also negatively affect things in solo gameplay.
Hopefully they will pay attention to all the complaints on the Exiles board, and start from the ground up with these things in mind.
So they can have some servers specifically for PvP, and any PvP changes will only affect THOSE servers, while the normal gameplay balance of Solo vs Group can be adjusted via sliders for the PvE servers.
I will early access Dune for the biggest preorder bundle they have. Gimme swag or gimme death.

You maybe, not me.
If I buy Dune at all, it will likely be when the price is around $20.
Unless Funcom really steps up and works to repair the mess they’ve made of Conan. Or a lot of info is out about Dune showing they’ve learned from their mistakes, rather than just painting over them with new DLC.
