Server 4025 has suffered from hackers for over 2 years now. I’ve reported it multiple times to Funcom including team and player names, all I get back from Funcom are BS stock responses, likely from an AI they’ve given a name to give some vague semblance of providing customer service. These hackers (a) use DDOS attacks to bring the server to a crawl and then spam the ‘report a player’ function against anyone that beats them in a fight. They even name their players things like ‘lag switch’ and boast about DDOS attacks and exploiting mesh bases in the voice chat. Funcom has done NOTHING to stop them for OVER TWO YEARS!
TO make things worse, they obediently ban anyone these hackers decide to mass report (likely by using dedicated bots). I did join one team that did build a lot and was banned on account 1 for obstructing resources - although whether they actually were or whether it was just bot-enabled mass claims by the hackers remains to be seen . So I left the problematic allegedly resource-obfuscating team, never rejoining on account 1. Then because I’d been reported by the hackers twice, I decided to rejoin that team momentarily on Account 2, to get some stuff back. then I left that team 2 weeks ago. Suddenly this week I HAVE BEEN BANNED ON BOTH ACCOUNTS, despite not even accessing account 1 (unassociated with allegedly problematic team for over a month. I hadn’t even logged in on that account for 3 weeks.
So it really does just seem that according to fun com
- Mesh bases are fine and not worth investigating - despite hackers systematically destroying multiple servers by abusing them to permanently hide loot
- Funcom don’t care who is playing the game properly. If cheaters mass report you, you get banned, even if neither of your accounts are anything to do with a team that allegedly blocked resources. Even if you do everything you can to play the game fairly and properly, Funcom will nonchalantly ban all your accounts due to bots reporting you and then in doing so - because of the insanity of their 7 day decay system, they ensure that I will lose a base I spent over 50 hours building and accruing items for.
It’s obvious Funcom never cared about the players, it’s obvious that Dune is their sole priority now, but even as a long-suffering, dedicated player of this dilapidated game, I’m so disheartened by how badly they treat loyal players, how thoughtlessly they will punish them while simultaneously rewarding mesh base-dwelling, DDOS attack-utilizing, Player Report spamming cheaters by BANNING THE PEOPLE THAT PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT CHEATING AND KEEP THEIR SERVERS POPULATED IN A WAY THAT ATTRACTS NEW PLAYERS.
I really wish I’d known how negligent and anti-player Funcom are as a company. I think I’d have been much happier playing a better game with actual customer service and one that doesn’t just send these disrespectful stock emails attached to players after ruining everything they’d been playing the game for. This probably spells the end of my time on Conan. I loved making friends with other players, but Funcom has handed the reigns of this game over to cheaters that exploit every aspect of the game and get away scot-free because there’s no one overseeing this game anymore. It’s a ghost of a game stewarded by a fake customer service system that DOES NOTHING but facilitate cheating on the servers. Truly the worst customer service and worst run game I’ve ever experienced in over 30 years of gaming. I regret putting so much time into the game when Funcom clearly doesn’t give a damn about the players.
