Hi.

As many I’m playing Conan Exiles on a Linux Mint - latest version. After Update on Jan, 16. 2024 the game didn’t start anymore. I have tested it with every Proton-Version

Until then the game worked fine with Proton 8.0.7

Was that update from the distribution? I don’t recommend being sid/experimental and expect a stable binary for any distro.

Steam Online Service is the problem. When you start without Steam Online Service the game is starting, but with will not starting. Before the Steam Update from 12.01. the game will works, after this steam update it´s broken. Valve must fix this.

I think about the Hotfix 2 (2024.01.16), that’s what I guess.

PS: Problem. I don’t find Steam Online Service. How to deactivate it?

You can disable Steam Online Services by editing the /steamapps/common/Conan Exiles/ConanSandbox/Config/Windows/WindowsSteamEngine.ini and changing true to false on the OnlineSubsystemSteam bEnabled line. But you can´t play without. The game is starting, but steam say you are offline. Try it self.

Okay, I have disabled Steam Online Service as discribed and the game started. And as you said I cannot play cause Steam Online Service is not runnning.

Thank you for testing this issue. I try to connect Steam to let them solve this problem.
