Game suddenly won't start on my xb one [... Conan took too long to start (0x8027025a)]

**Crash ** at start up. Can’t get to any mode region server or even single player.

** Xbox one that has worked fine every day and still plays other games fine.

Bug Description:

Attempts to launch Conan result in the following Xbox error:

Please try again
For some reason Conan exiles took too long to start. (0x8027025a)
[Close] [Help]

This happened after playing earlier today but now won’t start no matter how many times I try, or how many times I reboot the Xbox.

I can still play any other game, but not Conan. Even after a hard reset, all attempts to launch Conan result in a long display of the launch/title screen, the sound of the first logo screen plays without any visual changes - the title screen remains on screen, and then the Xbox error appears.

I don’t know what else to do that won’t result in loss of data / progress.

Any ideas?

Hello @hal9000, we’d suggest that you first ensure that your save is stored on the XBOX cloud, before trying to follow the steps below:

  • Reset the console cache by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the console powers off, then disconnecting it from the power outlet for a couple of minutes.

  • If the issue persists, try to perform a soft factory reset while keeping games and apps.

  • Should you still have trouble loading into the game, please try to do a full reinstall of the game.

Please let us know if any of these steps help.

Thank you @Hugo - doing a soft factory reset seems to have fixed the problem.
