Great combat, and the rest will follow

Between the building, the vast landscape, and the variety we have and the continued improvements being made little by little, I feel like the only thing really keeping this game from rising high is the combat.

Pretty much all of the content cant be beaten with sub par equipment, making the discovery of unique pieces hardly enticing. I think the addition of more land, quests, sorcery, and world events would be great but before all else I wish the combat would be fine tuned. Not a change to a 1h swing animation, or just a simple kick change to a sweep. While player combat has seen many great improvements, the AI itself seems either too easy or ridiculous with hit boxes, especially with larger creatures. Aside from increasing the enemy damage or my damage taken I want to see truly unique and smooth enemy AI. Things like
-not running head first at you
-offering some form of stun break so AI don’t get into a cc chain
-utilizing gap closers and openers, avoiding being hit
-unique attacks with potential for delays to bait (currently only hammer, and isn’t used much)

I don’t think listing them off does much, I’m sure the ideas have flown around since beta (I was there). I just want combat, specifically enemy AI combat really addressed.

I don’t disagree with you but the programming required to improve the AI is pretty difficult. Though, I fully agree that finding ways to improve the combat in the game would attract and maintain a lot of peoples attention, right now the game it more of a builder game then anything else. Though, it does have great building mechanics other then some glitches.
