[Guide] Hanging one-sided curtains [DLC]

Why a guide? / For whom?

Answers

The Debaucheries of Derketo Pack added several types of curtains, but one of them has no inverted counterpart. The guide was created in response to the needs of players who want to decorate their homes with symmetrical curtains.

Guide content

I worked out three slightly different ways to hang the curtains in the most symmetrical way possible.

First solution

(two walls high room)

Construction in points
  1. Build the foundations and walls of the room (like the picture below).

  2. Cover the room with a ceiling.

  3. Hook the doorframe under the ceiling where you want to hang the curtains.

  4. Replace the ceiling next to the doorframe using a hatch frame

    • on the left - in front of the doorframe
    • on the right - behind the doorframe

  5. Climb upstairs and hang the curtains on both doorframe.

  1. Destroy both doorframe.
  2. Replace both hatch frame with the ceiling.
  • Final look

Second solution

(three walls high room, double ceiling)

Construction in points
  1. Build the foundations and walls of the room (like the picture below).

  2. Cover the room with a hatch frames at the second wall height.

  3. Put the walls or fences in line on the hatch frames where the curtains are to be hung.

  4. Hang the curtains.

    • on the left - in front of the fences line
    • on the right - behind the fences line

  5. Cover the room with a ceiling at the third wall height.

Third solution

(three walls high room, niche)

Construction in points
  1. Build the foundations and walls of the room creating a niche (like the picture below).

  2. Cover the niche with a ceiling and hang the walls below it.

  3. Hang the curtains.

    • on the right - behind the wall covering the niche
    • on the left - in front of the wall covering the niche

  4. Cover the room with a ceiling.

I hope this guide will be useful to someone.
Thank you for reading :+1:.

Nice work around. I thought I read somewhere that they were going to make it so it can be rotated. In the mean time this works

I would be glad if the curtains could be turned. Meanwhile, I hang them everywhere as I showed in the guide.

So this is still not fixed 4+ years later…

Thank god for LBPR, allowed me to sort of make it work. Mods to the rescue yet again.

Yeah, I was peeved to discover the curtains were missing the rhs, and didn’t stop to think before posting. Apparently Funcom does need reminding…

Some time ago, years if this one recalls…
They noted that all DLCs are in their completed form and nothing would be added to them.
If anything else was going to be done with them, there would need to be financial incentive.
This we now have Bazaar expansions for Stormglass and Turanian…

So, this one would guess that the only way the other side curtain will ever exist is either a mod or an expansion to be purchased for more money.

This one does agree that it is shameful and absurd that they sold an incomplete curtain set.
However, pragmatically, they already have your money and after all these years it’s obvious they don’t give a cluck.

It’s for a just cause, though.

People also need reminding that the “old style DLCs” were not as complete as they think, when making comparisons to BP/Bazaar sets. The lack of this curtain piece was a disappointment in an otherwise great DLC.
