Have Not Had A Purge In Months. Need Some Help

Friends I need a spot of help. I am trying to figure out why I have not had a Purge for several months now, maybe more, and hopefully rectify this. In fact, I suspect that I have actually not had a single purge on my game since the introduction of the no purge zone on the River biome.

I will elaborate as much as possible. I am an Offline Singleplayer on PS5, meaning that I have made myself Admin. This has also led me to ponder if perhaps I have a setting circumventing it from triggering. I currently have 5 bases around the Exiled Lands. My primary base is a three storey black ice manor located at coordinates J4 in the River biome. Yes, inside the no purge zone. However, I do not understand why none of my 4 outpost are receiving purges either. They are located in a) D5 Unnamed City b) E8 Desert NW of Muriella’s Hope c) M8 Jungle and finally in d) M4 Silkwood in the Jungle. In addition to these I have a hanful of placed items around the map such as maprooms near obelisks.

My purge bar is completely full and has remained that way for many weeks now.

In the past I have tried to disable then subsequently re-enable the purge in a bid to see if it would help. It did not. Visiting and spending lengthy play sessions at my outposts does not seem to trigger it either. Here is an image of my purge settings.

Very happy to answer any questions. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

It’s a silly question and please forgive me brother, do you happen to play through the timeline of the purge?

Try to set “minimum Number of online player” to 1. Maybe this triggers your machine to “count” and to detect the “needed” player count, and then trigger the purge( could be a glitch/bug).

How big are they? If I’m not mistaken, there’s a minimum size for a base to be considered eligible for purge.

No problems at all @stelagel! :smiley: While I have not purposefully taken note of the time, I am remarkably confident this will be a yes. Evenings are my most common playtimes for gaming after everyrhing has been done. But please do also note my good fellow that the ‘time restrict purge’ box is unchecked. So surely this would not be operational would it…?

Thanks for the reply here @Talyna. Ok then I will be sure to set this bad boy to one (1) and see if it will help. I believe that because I am an Offline Singleplayer I may have erroneously conflated online (actually playing) with online (playing on server over the internet). To say I am not especially proficient with technology would be putting it mildly.

I haven’t had purge either, I assumed it was from being away long periods of time. Whenever I got back on, the meter would drop right down. :man_shrugging:t2:

I even went creative mode, built a convergence trap (on exiled lands) and tried to activate it. Nothing. It has worked previously from this, but no good right now.

I will patiently wait for Chapter 2 to come around. It’s only another 4 months, right? :rofl:

This statement had a air of familiarity to it, but I had long since forgotten about it. All of my outposts are not especially large @CodeMage. None of them are larger than 4×4 foundations and, none taller than wall pieces. Most of my outposts only contain a bed, a chest, a campfire and lighting. Furthermore, only the Unnamed City and the Desert have any followers in the, the rest are uninhabited (excluding myself). So I guess it may be time to try my hand at and expand some outposts?

We’ve noticed we also have issues with purges on a private server. Checking the logs, it will gives us a ‘Failed to find home location’, or ‘No valid paths found’ or something similar to that and then it just…sits there. It doesn’t appear to try again, doesn’t clear the meter, doesn’t do anything. So we’ve used admin commands to empty our meter, then later refill it. Then finally switched to convergence trap (we’re on Savage Wilds) and started managing it ourselves. It still sometimes fails though. Our last one had 3 waves spawn without issue and then the 4th wave gave us the ‘No valid paths found’ error and our convergence trap stayed active. Admin used the end purge command and then we restarted the server and it had cleared out at that point.

You too @everybodyvsME!? This comes as a bit of a surprise, and sorry to hear it is not working for you either. If it will not even work with the Convergence Trap then that really makes me wonder if it is a bug. I had always assumed that the game may be trying to send the Purge to my main base within the no purge zone as opposed to an outpost, but it keeps hitting a blocked or stuck scenario. Anecdotally like a truck trying to deliver its cargo but the depots gate is locked. So instead of driving to a sub-depot (outpost) it just sits their idling away. But your scenario has now made me pause and given food for thought.

I was also waiting to see if this would resolve the issue, but I decided to put out the call ahead of the update to pre-emptively tease out some variables. This way I will have not only put it out there, but also tried solutions pre and post second age updates. :wink:

It’s odd. I know @Darkzombie was getting disconnections from purges. Now they don’t even come at all.

You need at least 85 building pieces to a purge spot to accept purge, no matter the tier.

We had the same issue again today. Used convergence trap, first wave spawned perfectly, log shows second wave failed to find a valid path and now we are stuck with an active convergence trap and no purge waves.

I wish i knew how to help. I had to turn purges off on my server because while purges did trigger, after defeating it the bar never resets to 0. The bar drops just a few points and within a day or two another purge triggers giving almost no reprieve for players.

I hope this has been updated at some point and is now true, because I have been hit by a Purge here:


That’s literally the only building within several map grid squares in my Single-Player. It’s from a few years ago, though. And of course the Purge spawned inside a rock.

This would be my guess as to why they’re not getting purged, but maybe I’m wrong. Try expanding them a bit, see how it goes.

On official Siptah server we were offline during purge time. I always check event log when we login after scrolling through purge started purge ended well over thirty times quit counting this was for one night no damage done.

I have some good news and some bad news.
Good News- peoples success after being purgeless for so long, I got one over the weekend. It was at base ‘b’ near Muriella’s Hope. Expanding the outpost seemed to do the trick. @CodeMage you called it first mate.
Bad News- it was a rocknose purge, and although me and the one lone thrall I had stationed there fought valiantly, in the end we had to fall back, and the rockslide all but razed it to the ground. But honestly I did not much care. I was just trying to complete the Purge Journey Steps.
