Help with setup - solo game

Hello people!

First Merry Christmas!

I need help with setting up my game. I play solo, so I would like to increase the speed with which pets / horses, but especially slaves, say, thralls, are “manufactured”.

I’ve been to the options and increased the value of the multiplier to the maximum, but it has no effect … is there a bug related to this function or am I doing something wrong?

I appreciate all the help,

TK85

You need to lower the bar for that one. In Server settings, under crafting. Thrall crafting time multiplier, 0.0 will make them instant. 10.0 will make it take longer.

Edit- Also want to point out that changing the setting will not affect followers already progressing in the wheel/pens. Any new followers added will be based on the multiplier at the time of their breaking.

Does lowering the setting for pets apply to horses in stable too ?

yes, any crafting lower numbers are faster.

I recommend the setting 0.2 it’s not instant, but you don’t have to wait all day.

OMG!

So I have to lower the values, not increase …

Mercy, I was going to stay the rest of my life waiting for them to be ready … lol!

Thank you very much!

Hi TK85 and welcome to the community! It sounds like you have already made yourself Admin, so youre off to a great start! Done. Now you have probably already got this covered, but just incase. Go to ‘Settings’ > scroll across to ‘Server Settings’ > (after going to ‘Make Me Admin’ in General) scroll down to ‘Survival’ and ensure that ‘Drop Equipment On Death’ is unchecked. You will no longer lose all of your gear when you die. Finally, scroll down to ‘Pet and Hunger’, and ensure that ‘Use Minion Population’ is also unchecked. This way it wont start to grumble at you about the impending Thrall/Pet limit on official servers. No Thrall/Pet limit for you my friend. Hope you enjoy Conan Exiles as much as we do.

Thanks

As for the tips, yes, I had already visited the settings tabs and made these modifications. :+1:

Thanks. I’m on PS4 so I can’t use numbers settings but just raise or lower them by .50 increments. For the Pet settings is 0.50 or 0.00 If I lower it.

then I would use 0.0
because 0.50 is only a 50% decrease in time

I guess it depends on what you want from the game, but effectively disabling the time cost for breaking thralls makes them all “throw away”. As with reducing material crafting times like this, it also means that there’s never really a point looking for that T4 thrall.

Just something to think about if you’re looking for an “authentic” gameplay experience without the boosts.

I was just thinking about, the fact that a t4 thrall will take 12 hours real time, to break at 0.50
and in single player the clock is not ticking when you are not playing.
on a server breaking a thrall is just toss it in a wheel, it’s done the next day, real time.
in single player the same thrall could take weeks, real time.
Depending how long you stay in game each session.

The point of a T4 thrall is a crafter will have patterns other thralls will not, a fighter has higher base stats so the potential to have higher stats once leveled.

I don’t even bother with anything less that a T3, and I haven’t since the first month I played.

You’re right about the T4 armorers, blacksmiths and carpenters. All the others are really just time/resource reduction. I really wish catch-up would work across restarts in solo games, but Funcom doesn’t seem interested.

I decided for an authentic experience, I’d just get myself my own private server. The officials are such a mess, it’s a shame.

cooks and alchemists have recipes also.

Only Smelters, Taskmasters, and Tanners lack any benefit other than time and material cost.
And Taskmasters have patterns if you put them on the torturer bench.

so of all crafters only two classes are just mat / time reduction.

I agree a server is the way to get the best of the game, I play on official pvp, and only use single play to run tests.

The cooks and alchemists really are only a thing if they’re purge T4s, afaik. All of the “essentials” can be done by T3s, but I get the point.

And unfortunately, single player is broken in some minor, and a few very major, ways. It’s fantastically easy to cheese the respawns in SP, and meteor showers don’t work at all (which basically forces you to cheat at end game). Some of the dungeons also don’t work quite right in SP, but those can usually be worked around.

Starmetal drops from Nordheimers, so you can endgame without cheats. But the drop rate is pretty low.

I don’t make my own steel, I farm it from the Nordheimer.

The frost giants too, but the quantity is so low it’s not really practical. Unfortunate, but is what it is.

For the settings I usually choose the easiest difficulty because it sets settings like thrall breaking on the wheel of pain at 0.10 and crafting speed at 0.30. Something I can’t do myself on PS4. Then once the game starts I change all other settings back to default except pets taming I set at 0.50. I don’t want it to be 0.00.
For some reason time catching works for me. I can put a baby animal in the animal pen before logging out and when I log in, usually a few days latter, the pet is done or almost done. Same for filling up the furnace with ore or stone, I can leave to do a dungeon or quit the game and when I’m back most of it is done. All if I use a T4 smelter.
But I very rarely see meteor falls and I must use the admin panel to get star metal. That’s really something I’d love to be fixed for single player games. It’s possible to get T4 thralls without using the admin panel, even if some aren’t easy to find, but star metal is still a problem.
