@Devteam You should have our Funcom ID’s hidden by default on official servers. It would help cut down on grief and protect our personal identity information better.
no
Being able to see the Funcom ID allows people to see the name of trolls and makes it easier to report them when they do bad things. I do not think that any personal identity information is displayed when a person looks at our Funcom ID page.
I think the FunCom ID should not be displayed on the character.
But it should still be there on the player list screen.
That way if someone is being abusive like @NavyLily01 mentioned, it is still possible to report so they can be held accountable for their actions.
But the ID is not apparent in game.
IF they fixed the glitch with the thing that lets us see each others’ Full IDs, this wouldn’t be a problem. Then you’d only be exposed via the Playerlist, when you chatted or spoke into your mic.
ETA: As it is now, I can’t sneak onto any server without everyone who’s competent knowing I’m playing there. This then forces the average player to change his name to something unintelligible. But not me, though.
If Funcom would split the player list in two, that may help. One list for online IDs and the other list just for player names. Now, if that was set, it’ll be much harder to figure out who is who.
this is a double edged sword… there are good reasons to know a players ID as well as bad… if a player needs to be reported for any reason it’s good to have access to the ID but as far as just knowing when someone is on leads to the ability to grief without much evidence of it. there are those who will use it on a pvp server in a way such as hey there’s a new player lets find him and make sure he knows his place or leaves the server… (part of why i never really played PVP, few times i started on different servers same thing) needing the ID’s to report obvious hackers and exploiters and griefers is needed though… so it’s a back and forth which is higher priority being able to be more stealth or being able to easily report… another thing with such ease of reporting becomes reporting players who are just playing the game… so there again goes with the double edged sword… which side is sharper and which side is being neglected the good for the bad or the bad for the good…
What personal information are you talking about?
Also if you’re getting PVP’d then just PVP back. PVP issues have PVP solutions, use them.
Probably his/her email info.
When I created my Boyfriends account, his FC ID defaulted to his account email address with some random numbers after it. I had to put in a zendesk to get it changed.
I see players with no FC ID’s. For them it is just a blank space. Just say’in.
