Hot Tar Pots (Trap Line dump)

OK we all played with the Boiling Tar pot and dumping them when people are under not always easy if trying to operation multiple pots. I suggest we could add a weighted chain line to create an auto dump.
If i have a tar pot up 2, 3, or 4 level and placed a building block directly below and then placed a weighted chain line on the building block. When someone destroyed (Purge) the building block it would allow the weighted chain line to drop triggering the boiling tar pot. NOTE: the chain line would need to be 1, 2, 3 in length depending on how high your tar pot is. Or in building you could add sections to it like after a 1 length section placed a second 1 length section could be added so on.

Maybe it is a little minecraft thought but the truth is tha we all fix it because it is jurney step. Yes i agree with you and no mater the cost if this was working automatically it would decorate all the walls of the game.

Sorry about the text mistakes

I agree,
these things would be much better if they worked like a trap, or could be activated by a thrall.

Honestly, I see siege cauldrons as an RP element, because they’re totally useless. If they could be operated by a thrall, that might work much better.

A way that could be done is to add a thrall slot on it. You can put a fighter thrall in the slot and it operates the tar pot.

The question is whether it would count towards the follower cap. On the one hand, you can put adult pets in a pen and have them produce resources and they don’t count towards the cap. But that’s because they don’t have an AI. This would have an AI, but its AI would be less expensive than a follower’s: no pathfinding, no complicated target acquisition, no weapon selection, no need to choose which attack to use, etc.

Anyway, just throwing out an idea.

At any rate, the siege cauldron journey step needs to be removed and replaced with a more useful journey step, e.g. something that would teach new players about stability and decay.

I like your idea to but I would hope it be a non counting thrall like a crafter is. as 4 pots 4 thralls could be costly if part of the count.

Everything you ve mentioned is absolutely correct. Bravo :+1::+1::+1:

The only problem is the software code for a thrall to trigger would be much harder as even you climb up your own wall would it go off? It would have to be a vertical proximity trigger 1 to 2 building blocks below the cauldron.

The siege cauldron, when triggered, will deal damage in a very specific area. If there is an actor in that area attacking your building or your followers, that should trigger the siege cauldron attack. The only exception would be players from your own clan.

And yeah, it’s not a zero-cost AI :frowning: But I would hope it would be acceptable to have it not count towards the follower cap, because it’s much cheaper than normal AI.
