Hotbar overwriting tools/weapons

If you press two buttons rapidly or at the same time the last button to be pressed on your hotbar will have that item equip but “Vanish” from the hotbar. If you use the weapon such as a cleaver or skinning knife, and one of the products of doing so will overwrite that spot. If you do not move that item to your inventory before equipping another tool you will lose the tool causing it to be transformed to the item you harvested.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. equip two hot-bar tools/items in one of the slots 1-8
  2. press two buttons quickly (less than 1 sec apart) (i.e. 5 then 6)
  3. the last one selected (i.e. 6) dissapears from the hotbar but is equipped.
  4. harvest wood/bodies/corpses w/e with the tool and it fills the hotbar slot with the product.
  5. equip another item. (Now the tool is the product of harvesting).

I had enough trouble figuring out what happened to my skinning knife for a while. I just saw this happen and was able to duplicate it.

Maybe an autocorrected “keen-eyed”?

Anyway, I can confirm that I saw a tool disappear this morning in just this way. I can double check that it can get overwritten when I get home if confirmation of that would be helpful.
