Hotfix for conan exiles

Yes. The base code might be so convoluted they would have to rewrite it almost from scratch. They were in some serious dire straits when CE was launched and probably expanding it this much wasn’t in their plans, @SpherisCore . The game is old. Perhaps they should start working on CE 2. This one seems beyond fixing…

Playing 7days. Have smallland but claustrophobic; not me the game.

But the “age” is typical tencent monetization. All their games have an over priced store with circulating content and “sales”. All their games have season passes with free game currency to cover the cost of the next. All their season passes have challenges to advance your pass to get free content.

It’s cookie cutter tencent monetization. Funcom just made it Conan flavored.

I wouldn’t particularly mind it if it didn’t break the damn game.

I wonder if they have a Blizzard situation? The vast majority, if not all, of the people who actually coded World of Warcraft haven’t worked at the company in nearly 10 years. Which not only greatly slows down bug fixes but even trying to add simple things (like extended backpack space) would nuke other random areas of the code and just create a cascade effect of BS.

I read different opinions about that, @Obsidious Some say the original programers are long gone, others say they are working on Dune, others say they are the same. Probably it’s a mix of the three.
Whatever it may be, that’s not our problem. It’s theirs to fix. But at this point I have setious doubts they can. I believe I’ll still play, eventually, but without high expectations…
I wish they could pull a “Cyberpunk” move and fix the game. Cyberpunk was a total mess on release and now it’s a very good game. CD projekt RED saved their reputation in the process.

sounds like CDPR did what Hello games done with No Man’s sky, which was also a mess and a bit controversial at launch, but they got stuck in and fixed the game.

CyberPunk and No Man’s Sky took steps to fix their games because they were worth it for the companies. Conan Exiles is no longer worth it for Funcom. It’s clear that Funcom isn’t concerned about their reputation. They release a broken update that renders the game unplayable for many players just so they can get new items in the store as soon as possible! And what happens? They sell like crazy in the bazaar! On the official servers I play on, in just one visit to reset the decay timer on buildings, I’ve seen at least 3 clans building pyramids! Mission accomplished!

In my view, Conan Exiles is that well running dry for Funcom. They’re pumping hard to squeeze the last drops of water they can get. Even if it means blowing up the water source.

The only question i‘m asking myself is:
why investing so many resources for the new dune game, when nobody in his right mind will ever touch that game?
Everyone with a halfway functional brain won‘t forget how badly they screwed up CE :man_shrugging:

Really sad, CE could have elevated FC into the AAA liga, if they had ever managed to get it work

That’s what a bunch of people thought after the release of Age of Conan was an absolute disaster.

My thoughts exactly.

CE has no competition. That’s why they get away with it.

A hotfix weeks later isn´t a hotfix anymore. Just saying.

Since hot is gone lets hope that at least the fix will be one. Otherwhise the hotfix was neither hot nor a fix.

All we can do is players is keep checking the forums for any more news regarding this coming fix, and hope that when the fix comes out it does fix the issues players like myself have been experiencing. For now all I know to do is to continute to report any newly occuring issues that are being experienced. Thank you for an update even a vague one is better than none at all and look forward to this fix (I miss playing with my friends on our server lol)

So what you are saying is, you knew there were issues but pushed it anyway. Leaving a lot of us frustrated and undermining your perceived competence.

Newsflash, this is an old release, very few of us are clamouring for new content so much that we couldn’t wait.

I can’t speak for anyone; especially not the sycophants who defend bad business practices which has resulted in the complete mess the games industry is in, but we would have happily awaited the update for you to get it right. Less stress for you, better product for us and a better reputation for Funcom.

By all means push out minor updates to the bazaar to increase income. But do not push content updates which are broken.

With regards to hotfixes and console approval I know of other companies that push fixes quickly and successfully so it is not a patch issue, it’s a Funcom issue.

Every single Age of content update has broken the game, which then takes you months to fix, if at all.

Even the new purge mechanics are broken, the placed treasures don’t stay counted on game restarts. The Stygian fort has spawned so close to clip my base and so far away I could barely see it. The game frequently crashes on Xbox during purges and has done for many updates. That is before you take into account design flaws.

First they took the game and made it unplayable. Then they gave us nothing, then a hotfix that didn’t work. Finally, they left us to die.

Personally, this one suggests a “Season” between Ages to wrap up the previous Age and prepare for the next one.
It might be content light, but it’s a good time to focus on bug fixes and polish for the next age.
Battle Pass and Bazaar can keep on going, and the time between Ages is an excellent opportunity to sell all the items that just don’t match to any particular age.

Also, @Astridur , this one is more amused by your previous post than this one should be.
Bravo.
