What is Funcom’s position on properly exiting Conan Exiles on PS4 to prevent progression loss and bugged/corrupted save files where knowledge, equipment, and assets are lost (both single player and online)?
I’m 100% (1 for 1) on getting screwed pushing option button on controller and choosing ‘Quit’ in single player.
I fair better longer just closing application to exit game, but eventually get corrupted.
But what is the proper way players are supposed to exit?
Also, how often does game save? And would it be beneficial to die more to save progress?
hi, to prevent progression loss I save my game on a USB flash drive. So, when the game has a brain fart, I only lose progress from my last save. Your problems are not unique. This has been an ongoing problem for 7 months since Age of War chapter 2. I reported it in July many other people have reported it. And all we hear is crickets. They (Funcom) haven’t even acknowledged the problem. As for how to exit just supposed to quit and the game saves. Until it freezes on exit and then you’re screwed.
well ya… you close during mid auto save… you basically rolled dice and lost. =/
MOST, open world games with no manual saves. You can open a chest and move an item.
Which forces an auto save. (some game keep storage as its own save like minecraft)
Then exit via menu or close game out if it doesn’t have an exit menu (played a few of those…)
The Auto save itself is about every 5mins… (may be longer, i’ve had power outages a few times and lost a good 10-20mins…)
I’ve played games long enough, play enough of certain types… you get used 3-7day resets… learning ways clear out memory cache. Or 255 items being touched is limit of reset(fallout 76)
But opening a chest and tossing item in/out will auto save for alot of games.
I’ve 100% loaded a save after an issue, found myself next to chest in CE… it works this far. XD
Omg Sera, thanks a million. Sometimes even on ps5 i find my self not to be where i logged out, but this happens only on single player, never online.
I always log out on bed and do an emote of sleeping, plus i wait some seconds before i log out. Most of the times it works. But on a new session i always have issues, especially when i don’t have a bed. So, does campfire works the same, if i place a campfire and put inside things will it work as a chest?
Easy @Not_Conan. I play in Offline Singleplayer mode, and all I do is hit □ button on either my Bed or Bedroll before I log off. It should come up with a message ‘spawn point update’. This triggers a soft save. I have been doing this for years, and it almost never misses a beat.
