So, I’ve been playing Conan Exiles, Single Player on Official Server for about 2 weeks. My character is at Level 60 and I’m still based on Noob River.
The game is basically great and generally a fun and immersive experience. However… now that I’m levelled up I’ve started to grab as many high level Thralls as I can. Getting a few T3’s to help me get several T4’s, plus a couple of mounts and lots of pets. Plenty of bench Thralls and some ok Gear. So far so good. I had a couple of T4 Thralls at Level 10, a Level 18 horse and one at Level 12.
Then the game failed to save at the Exit screen… Progress Bar stuck, forcing me to hard quit via PS4 system. On restart of the game all my top tier Thralls were gone, buildings half-finished and loot chests showing as ‘ No Owner’ - incredibly frustrating, particularly as I’d purchased a Battle Pass to access extra gear which I’d crafted and given to various Thralls.
This is now a constant occurrence.
I can play for an hour - exit the game, which hangs, forcing a hard quit = progress I’m also losing Journey Steps, most of which I have completed 3 or 4 times - not a crucial aspect of the game but still frustrating.
I’m trying to set up a base further North to experience my first Purge, but setup is proving impossible, as I can’t make enough progress and save it successfully to be able to set up a decent Purge worthy build.
I’m really enjoying the playing and building aspects of the game but it all feels pointless as I know that whatever I do will be lost when I try to log out.
Super frustrating !
Thanks in advance for any workarounds that there might be for this - reclaiming lost Thrallls, Gear and Builds via Amin Panel doesn’t help either as that progress is also lost.
This game could be so good if only for the ability to Save properly.

Welcome to the Forum. I assume you are playing offline single player. Honestly I don’t other than occasionally to test something. I know there is a option to load your save to the cloud at a guess requires ps+ if you have it back up your saves. Problem with offline is that you are using ps4 as a server and it is hard on the console especially if it is dirty or hot. @SeasideGeorge as you have earned these people and items don’t feel bad about using admin to get yourself back to where you were just remember using admin can be addictive. That’s why we spend more time on official than our own server.

So I changed my PS4 settings to online saves with Auto-Upload and then uploaded the local save files I had from my PlayStation.
Today I had my first successful game Save and Reload in over a week !!!
All Thralls, Gear , Builds and Journey intact when I restarted the game. If this works consistently going forward I will be so happy!
