How to fix the FPS lag (temp bug, tip for players)

This is just a temp fix, but if your game is experiencing major First Person Shooter choppiness or lag, try turning OFF the “show journey steps” in settings. For some reason the hud is what’s causing the issue, game plays like before for me now. For good measure I also turned off weapon trails and show contextual control tips, but I’m 99% sure it is the new journey system. Turn it off and you should be able to play without the unbearable stutter.

Funcom will hopefully fix. For now, you have to.

Thanks for the advise. It works after disabling said options. But the whole intro is stuttering and even if you want to close the app (hold the PS Home Button) the upcoming menu is even stuttering. I think the load on the Playstation is too much and that results in the whole system slowing down. The PS version needs optimization!

Starmetel tools or weapons being equipped should bring tree’s back

Running it off the internal drive vs an external also seems to mostly clear up the issue.

I think there is a clear performance distinction between the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Only Funcom can support the non-Pro PS4. It’s just too old and should be deprecated.

You see, I’m having to play at a PS4 rate than at the PS4 Pro rate because there is no override to that that. I’m like, “hey, this is a ps4 pro not a ps4!”

But, good it was confirmed to be the journey system that needs a fix.

Even the PS5 runs it at PS4 level. It would be great if they offered a higher performance mode, or ideally a native PS5 version. I doubt it is gonna happen though honestly.
