I was thinking that crafted weapons were on par with legendary weapons (and how some players didn’t like that). So I was thinking: how to make legendary weapons better without disrupting game balance?
So here’s the idea: add an additional upgrade slot to legendary weapons.
But here’s the catch: the new upgrade slot only works on NPC specific types of creatures.
For example: a ‘dragon slayer’ upgrade improves damage against dragons or a ‘wolf’s bane’ upgrade improves damage against wolves. That way, the weapons still maintain their damage stats for PvP purposes (ie. balance), but gives a slight improvement to legendary weapons to make them just a little more ‘special’.
