Will there be any changes in the design of the transfer stones, in some cases they are almost impossible to use

I am struggling with porting to the right teleport as well, but until there is a more precise way to teleport, perhaps think about how many teleports you really need, as they are presented now according to their related map position from you
This is indeed an issue. And the merging of the two maps definitely made it worse - since the stones correspond to āphysicalā map coordinates.
Perhaps when aiming at a stone - nearby stones could āscatterā a bit? Kinda like you were zooming in?
Of course aiming at ONE specific stone is the whole issue - when a bunch of them are clustered tight.
So i realise that this might cause some āexcessiveā animation⦠But could perhaps be made to work with some careful ātimingsā or ādelaysā?
You aim at the āclusterā - even though you canāt find the stone you actually want - you just aim at a random stone in that cluster. This āanimatesā nearby stones to move away a bit and you can THEN find and aim at the correct stone?
Idk if thatās possible⦠I realise it would mean making the stones āmoveā away from their coordinates. Which introduces a whole new set of āmechanicsā.
Yes always

Perhaps it would be better for the stones to āspread outā or, for instance, move in a spiral one after another, making it possible to grab the right one from the ālist.ā In any case, @Dana, this is something the developers should look into. Itās one of the side effects of the server merge.
The idea is to make it a player-crafted structure with 5ā8 stacked circular tiers. As shown in the picture, each tier would contain slots for teleport stones. Players could manually place the gems by destination category and for example: the top tier for base teleporters, the second tier for the Mounds of the Dead, the third for the snow biome, the fourth for the eastern part of the map, the fifth for one part of the Isle of Siptah, the sixth for another part of Siptah, and so on.
A simple list of destinations would work. This could be added as an alternate to the current method. Such as Hold E on structure, select show list of destinations. Pick one and teleport.
Exactly.
I try to build a base near an obelisk to eliminate the need for portals on EL. On Siptah, I build as few as possible just to avoid the current stone quagmire.
Transpatory stones need to have a Public/Private setting and open a menu for teleport selection.
Iām fine with the stones floating⦠they just need separation.
Having a list, would really break immersion. The idea FuerGrissa shared is a good one.
Good answer. Both⦠do both.
Fix the stones, AND add the ability to use a list. Then everyone is happy.
They canāt add a crafting list or field like in the workbenches for existing portals because that would require making new portals from scratch, simply because the way they implemented it in the game, instead itās easier to adjust the position and size of the teleportation stones and fix the overlap
like instead of arriving in my storage base i always do a pit stop at my clan mates base type of immersion breaking?
My first ideas are:
- A switch between EL and Siptah
- A switch between viewpoint and map center
First seems logical, second is a fix for lining. For example stepping in the mound portal to go to a Pagoda portal while itās hiding behind your Asagarth portal.
An alternative to all is the stones being real stones and having a collision so that they cannot overlap.
so i can be like that - near teleport name in setup menu for example there is list teleport number, so 1-10 1st tier, 11-20 2nd tier etc. or 0-9, 10-19..
Iāve always struggled with the design choice of the floating stones personally, itās probably not entirely unique, however not something I would have imagined as the solution for choosing a location. Iāve read all the books and I canāt recall anything that is similar? Although at the time I read them I lost a lot of memory so have trouble recalling that period. If any lore experts know better please correct me.
Instead I would have liked to imagine that entering the bubble in the transportory stone would have created a mental connection via sorcery and by interacting with it you bring up the map with highlighted icons where your transportory stones are, thus selecting and transporting. Maybe not the most imaginative but UI and functionality doesnāt have to be late 90s video game goofiness either.
This is why the list would be an alternate method. You would not see the list if you didnāt want to. You would have to hold E to see it.
