Transportory stones change floating stones

Can we please get a fix/change to how transportory stones place the floating stones that mark each location? As it is now, they tend to stack up on each other depending on where the transport locations exist on the map. this can be a real pain in the butt to find the correct stone. why not just have set locations in the stone or just let us click on the portal and pick the destination in a list. please do something.

well it could use a little work. The list idea though is what some might call “immersion breaking”. The idea is that you interact with the device thru the sorcery theme, so a list is probably a no go. Probably something could be done though to have them go to the same radius and just kind of push each other out of the way so that when you hover on one, it comes forward from the pack.

I’m unsure btw, but to me it seemed like it has already underwent a change.

I don’t get to actually play the game that often, but the past few days I played a bit and it seemed that now the little hovering stones are perfectly lined up and much easier to find than like a month or two ago.

Could be just random luck thou idk… but I remember them being all over the place and now they formed a little row.

Well that would be cool too. I myself have not used a transportory stone in awhile but my understanding is they line up with where the other portals are on the map, so I wasn’t aware if they changed that aspect yet. Last I played, based on where I had my portals, the stones sometimes were a little difficult to manage and I would have to swing the camera wide to get a good view. Admittedly, it’s been awhile since I did it though.

Oh! that is correct actually  I had the game open so I just checked quickly

Flotsam is definitely in that direction! (can see my facing on minimap)… sooo no change was made, I was simply looking at the stones at the portal I have near the Volcano entrance in the top left of the map the other day… which is why all the others appeared to be lining up, since they’re all South-East of that point…

Edit: In any case, I found that when the stones are being difficult, switching to first person view almost completely eliminates any issues for me as you can very easily target each individual stone.

How about one of these?

Mine just seem to stack on top of each other.

From one side, the most distant one is over the center one. cannot easily see it from inside the bubble.

Inside view of first one.

At the distant end, the 3 stack on each other. makes it difficult.

Because there is no limit on the number of Transportory Stones you can build, there needs to be some way to arrange the stones. Them stacking up is just a logical way to make it work. Having too many built absolutely starts making them into a bit of a mess, and I am perfectly fine with that. It is a soft deterrent on building too many. The last thing we need is more hard caps on things.

However, if I could change the stones, I would remove the spinning animations. Because the stones are not perfect spheres, on several occasions, I’ve accidentally clicked on the wrong stone because a different stone rotated in front of my intended destination.

It helps some to go into 1st person.

First person also helps when the stones won’t show their label. Which happens to me a lot.

thanks, that does help.

you were rock blocked?

This one would also appreciate a little more spacing for the stones.

The current configuration makes plenty of sense, in that the stones are arrayed relative to the current teleport circle’s location on the map.
However, depending upon how many teleporters there are (is there a toggle for admins to limit the number of port points a clan can have? Like the Thrall limit? This one thinks that may be a good toggle to add) it can get very crowded in some areas.
Perhaps if they were arrayed in a way that the circle’s center is relativisticly the center of the map or some major landmark related to magic (the Tower is a good candidate for the Isle of Siptah), then it might help.

what they need to do is fix it so like one guy said make it so if there are too many in one direction that it would force them to separate so u can see the other directions right now it’s not a used system for the fact they cause mass Corruption and anyone can access them so you can’t have it in your base there is so much wrong with the stones they need to figure out so people can use them more.

Then again I play official and I only set what I need in certain Directions and close to what I need to like one between Warmaker Temple Septa and unnamed city one by the ice Temple one By the Jungle Temple one in the Volcano one in the Undead and that’s about it

Hmm… while I’m not a big fan of these types of solutions, however in this case it might not be too horrible.

So… what I had in mind is that instead of the instant teleportation, your character would spend like 3 seconds doing some short spell animation during which a tiny popup appears with "teleporting to XYZ in 3 … 2… 1… " during which you can hit the cancel button :man_shrugging:

It’s not as brutal as a confirmation box that just stops you in your tracks… and it can be somewhat immersive as long as that tiny popup isn’t too intrusive

Just as a safeguard against teleporting to the wrong place (depending on how the PvP crowd will look at this they’ll also either love it or hate it :joy: )
