Is Funcom intentionally trying to kill Conan Exiles!

This patch has been really hard on pvpers in general. I’ve already seen two servers implode and I’m sure there have been a lot more.

This is Chinese. And most of the game which Tencet buy, becomes donate garbage.

Buying furniture piece with 150 storage slots is not cosmetics.

It has 5k hp and in the space it takes up you can stack more chests to hold even more items.

This one sincerely doubts Funcom is trying to kill their flagship game (at least until Dune drops).

3.0 made the game unplayable on several platforms. But by this token, every major update would be considered an attempt to kill the game. There is not sufficient internal testing for all of the platforms the game is sold on. Sad, but hardly new. That the trend continued with the big monetization push was perhaps more unfortunate than usual.

At least they have been busily putting out patches to fix the whole mess.
This one hopes that the next one will get it to the sweet spot, so that a good and propper appraisal of the updates is possible. From what has been seen this was is very interested in sinking teeth into the new stat system and the new build system. Current stability just isn’t there, but that happens.

Is the monetization sorta narm?
YMMV
This one isn’t impressed. But there are dedicated threads about value/price.
On a more specific and perhaps accidentally useful level, the Battle Pass could probably offer a tighter selection of rewards, keeping them all Sorcery themed.
While the Bazaar could hold the rando armour sets and such.

There is some rough roll out with some pieces not behaving as advertised and a few sets didn’t have what they showed on the cover until an update later.
Oops.
But that was probably not intentional. Who would deliberately cluck up their monetization? No one who wants money. We all need to eat and a safe place to sleep. In the modern era, that means we all want money.

Now, this wasn’t the smoothest of updates, and there are contentious bits…
But some of this is definitely an effort at delivery on much requested features.
There will be refinements and tweaks, however, this one finds no blame with adding teased and vocally demanded features, even if they are not in the format every individual imagined.

Chinese.

Most people on console are quitting from the constant crash’s to the unbalanced lighting. The game is just not fun anymore on pvp servers. My clan is also lumped in there two weeks of playing terrible lag is enough. Hopefully the game gets to a better state because is was fun for a long time.

No excuse for 10-15 crash’s during raid time on a ps5.

I honestly couldn’t care less about the Battlepass / Bazaar prices. If I see something I want in the Bazaar I’ll probably buy it. If I don’t (or don’t think it’s value for money) I’ll ignore it. I would almost certainly have bought the battlepass by now but the simple fact of the matter is that for me as a playstation player, the game has been effectively unplayable since 3.0 dropped due to constantly freezing and crashing every few minutes (including after both patches).

I’ve seen a few posts from people saying effectively stop complaining and just go play the game. Trust me, I’d love to. I have ZERO issues with the cost of anything. But I’m not going to buy something that I can’t use. To those that are playing the game with no problems, more power to you, I just wish I could actually do that.

And still there is no acknowledgment from Funcom that any problems exist. I often see references to the Community here. Fair enough, we may be a community, but we are also customers who bought something, even if just the basic game, with no DLC etc. And right now the basic game isn’t working for some people. I would like to see the business that supplied the product (Funcom) acknowledge the customer (community) complaints about the product and tell us what they’re doing to try and fix it (or tell us that in their opnion it’s not broken and we’re making it up if that’s what they think) but I have given up all hope of that happening.

Even officials on PC are crashing constantly in and out of raid times. At least the 4 I bounce between.

Sometimes they’re down for 2minutes sometimes they’re down for 1-2hours. Pretty obvious whats happening when a base from a certain demographic is getting raided and the server goes down for 2hours.

Agreed, this is a clear purchasable advantage that I am 1000% against polluting the game (vanilla game anyway, modders knock yourselves out and let the good times roll on private server and single player).

For us anytime magic is used close by it’s pretty much instant freeze. That seems to be the biggest factor

I see. We’ve transcended from advantage being in pvp to now if you can buy 150 storage slots on a furniture piece, that that too is an advantage.

I need to stay out of the forums, some of you kill me

PvP in many ways is conducted around time.

Storage = time to find other storage and time to go back out searching, gathering , and fighting for more materials.

  1. The more time you take creating storage space because you ran out of space is time you are not doing the the other three.

  2. Also more storage in a container requires less of those containers and this in turn allows for quicker retrieval of items in a fight or less places to go if you need to abandon the base.

  3. And on top of this less container construction and placement area allows for smaller bases and that saves on material need and concealment somewhat if they are not searching wiht other than normal visual means.

So you see purchasable advantage on storage space availability on containers does have an impact on pvp and this advantage should not be able to be purchasable with real world cash. Keeping items cosmetic only in the Bazaar and other dlcs is a must atleast for pvp.

This might be a hot take but id prefer if they just fixed the majority of the bugs and then discontinue future support for the game when it comes to new content. Id prefer they just make a conan exiles 2 on Unreal 5 and start from scratch. Its well known the reason they are having such a hard time fixing this game is because the original dev team didnt exacy code this game optimaly. Id rather there be a team for Dune and a team for Conan Exiles 2. If they just come out and be honest with the player base about how difficukt it is to fix the current game and would be easier to start fresh id actually give them mad props. The problem with corporate studios these days is the PR propoganda where they alway have to paint things in a hunky dory facade ( halo infinite is a good exame). Its basically just gaslighting to save face and its fake and arrogant. Just be honest with the players, fix the current conan but discontinue future dlc and focus on Exiles 2 with better infrastructure. I want Dune to be good but im more of a Conan fan and id rather see a Conan 2.

You just made every pver absolutely enraged.

Tbh who cares if you can buy a cabinet with more space. Why even argue about such a meaningless topic? That cabinet isn’t going to win you a fight or help you raid a base.

This is the real topic

Please disable magic it’s crashing the game and causing everyone to leave

No one gets banned for not logging in. What did you really do?

How exactly would destroying good will make anyone switch to a different game from the same company? In what universe does what you wrote there make any sense?

Look, I’m royally pissed off at Funcom, but even I can’t figure out how people come up with ideas like that.

Focusing on how it’s “optional” is short-sighted. Having a freaking latte is optional, but if Starbucks regularly pissed in theirs, they would go out of business.

Take a look around the forums and see how many people feel literally cheated because they bought stuff they thought would serve a particular purpose, based on the description, only to find out that Funcom didn’t bother to figure out that you can’t write RP-oriented descriptions for your items when your customers have to make a purchasing decision based on those descriptions.

For bonus points, look at the number of threads dedicated to the bug with the BP multipliers. Pay special attention to how they proudly announced that they fixed it, and everyone was happy about that until the next time they logged in. When that turned out to be the typical Funcom “woopsie, bugfix didn’t work” situation, they told people to open Zendesk tickets when they don’t get their multipliers.

Guess how that worked out? If you guessed “filed a ticket, got the multipliers for one day, then back to no multipliers the next day”, you get the “This Is How Ineptitude Can Kill A Game” prize.

The cherry on top is that most of us were perfectly okay with that kind of slipshod work before because there was no urgency on our end and our money wasn’t on the line. But hey, they wanted to push FOMO stuff, and it turns out that there might be something to “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”.

Yep, that was my experience too. And then the BP multipliers stopped coming, and I got a bit bummed out, but continued playing. I mean, they’ll fix it, right? And then they announced they fixed it, and worked for a day, and then it didn’t work again. And then they told us to file Zendesk tickets, and that worked for a day, and then it didn’t work again.

And then I spent several hours spamming BP challenges in single-player with admin cheats, and got to level 60, and asked myself “WTF am I even doing?”

There’s a saying in my native language: “You take the jar to the well until the jar breaks.” I’m currently working on a new build on the server where I’m playing, so that’s keeping me engaged. After that, I honestly don’t know if I’ll muster enough enthusiasm for this game, because Funcom needs to get their act together. If they want more money, they should deliver more quality.

Lol yes, because instead of just making an announcement and dropping support for the game they thought it much more efficient to spend a butt load of money paying programmers and graphical designers to make updates with the intention of driving customers away…… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
