Hey @Taemien, looks like you were right. I had not realized that 3.0 removed the warpaint stats and since I rarely ever used them, I jumped into using them again over the last couple of days without actually looking if the stat was applied. So, I made a foolish error there.
Not a problem, your post made me thought I missed something lol.
Iâm glad you brought it up and gave me the chance to be informed.
If the better slaving tools were craftable rather than farming Szeths truncheon (which uses the same boring steel look anyway) this would be less an issue.
Taskmasters are for making chain bindings and better Truncheons. Sadly, player craftable Truncheons cap at steel (yes, Siptah has another craftable learnable option, it still looks like a bar mace- er, the steel truncheon), with no Hardened Steel (or black ice, which would be cool) and no Starmetal.
Expand the truncheon options and now the taskmaster goes on the torture bench to make better bludgeons.
Besides, with the new thrall situation, weâll be chewing thru property peeps much faster.
Ita an easy mode when you dont have to work for or wait for stuff to hapen in a game!
Easy mode because one doesnât have to work for it, yes, definitely.
Easy mode because someone doesnât have to AFK as long for it? Thatâs a stretch.
If there were an enslaving mini game where we had to actually torture our victims and condition them into service, cutting it would be easy mode.
But we donât play beat saber with whips, so no, itâs not removing anything that engages skill.
What work, exactly, is involved with waiting out a timer?
Making thralls easier to knock out makes the game easier, making the timer shorter does not.
And considering Dalinsia will now royally mess you up if she catches you slipping, itâs a fair trade.
So let me get this straightâŠthe 25 hour t4 breaking on the WoP is a feature?
Having a hard time swallowing that. The casual gamer and the solo players are mich appreciative of this change. I donât want it to be rotisserie chicken.
It is still very limited in RNG for crafters.
For sure I can see the extra damage taken. A bunch of t1 wraps and a few minutes between fights has so far easily countered that for me. I still wonât be taking my thralls anywhere near the arena champion but the rest of the content should be no problem with things as they are. I think a lot of people still donât run an authority build. Itâs kind of a must if youâre going to use thralls with any regularity and/or are in the habit of getting attached to them.
Better leave the thrall at home a make a proper fighter build. Place a bedroll nearby and youâre set. No need for babysitting worries and all the extra work to keep the thrall alive. If you die, you can easily get your stuff back and go back at it. If the thrall dies, you lost a lot of working hours. They arenât worth the trouble, currently. The player is very strong.
Still plenty of room left for a fighter build even with 20 shoved into authority. Iâve got 15 in str, 10 in vit and the rest in expertise and I handle everything ok. Iâve been running auth build specifically to get these treasures home without the need to stop and drop every 15 metres lol
You can, but youâll lose massively important perks. But thatâs not even it. Why risk it? You die, you lose nothing. The thrall dies, you lose a lot of hours.
Itâs just not worth it when you can solo everything. Thralls are good to look pretty at the base.
Some of us enjoy our roving band of hooligans. And thralls are still important for base defense during thralls.
Nah, they are not good enough to risk it.
For base defense we donât have other options and we have them in numbers.
Adventuring? Nope, itâs a bad investment and thereâs too much babysitting needed. I rather go alone without worries.
Youâre perfectly entitled to you playstyle, but I donât consider thralls a liability. Havenât lost one in I donât know how long.
Nobody like thralls more than me, dude. But they arenât worth the investment. Too much baby sitting involved. They ARE a liabilty unless you donât care if they die.
They stay at home. Thereâs almost no penalty for dying unless youâre playing pvp. So, why risk it? It simply doesnât pay. All the fuss about healing them, feeding them is unnecessary worry. I always took a thrall because she (i always take a she) used to take care of herself perfectly fine. I didnât worry at all. That was the pay for all the hours I had invested. Just help, no hassle and plenty eye candy.
Now? Good luck with that. I like fast paced adventuring. So, nope. None of that. I prefer just having to worry about myself. If the thrall is there to give me trouble, no thanks. Healing and waiting between fights because of the thrall, making sure she has food, enough bandages, yada, yada⊠that would be the dayâŠ
For base defense, sure. Itâs not like we have many options.
Yes today the only reason to bring a folower when playing is to level them. And keep the frends alive.
But now whe the easymode WOP its more an RTS mob spam defens system!
I take them to the jungle where they level fast, @Masmassu . Those grey apes are easy kills, no danger and plenty xp. While at it, I check the pagoda for crafters, dive for gold and silver and kill the world bosses in the area to get legendaries. Itâs a nice circuit. You also get a ton of meat to make grilled steak, hides and fur, for bulk plating.
I donât know how youâre speccing or utilizing thralls, but I never have to stop to let thralls heal. I can run the circuit in unnamed city without ever stopping.
Like I said, you enjoy the game your way, from where Iâm sitting they arenât a liability. And to say they are is just, frankly, wrong. They do just fine being meat shields and adding in damage while I dictate the flow of the fight.
I can run the circuit in unnamed city without any thrall while half asleep. Those bosses are a joke. Better taking a horse, that carries more weight and wonât get into fights.
And how am I speccing them? You take me for a fool? I am very careful leveling them, making sure they eat before each roll and always go for health (itâs not like we have a choice, like we used to). Exactly because Iâm so careful, and give them as many elixirs as it takes for them to get good perks, I donât risk them. If they get mobbed, they are stunlocked and if you donât intervene they are toast. So, baby sitting. Thralls used to solve their own shit without help and even help you solve yours. Now, they burden me and as I donât need their help, they stay home. Really, I donât want to worry about a thrall dying because I was busy fighting and he got stuck in a wall or some other idiocy. They are too much trouble for what they are worth.
