you can change icon sizes and placement, and font sizes in the data, gui folders.
I love seeing threads like this where the majority of the posters are unhelpful and argumentative. Kudos to the ones trying to find a real solution.
Just got a 4k monitor, been running StrangeUI for years and it seem to work just fine on the 4k monitor with one exception. That being the NPC/player names, guild names and that above their heads.
Anyone know what setting will increase the font size of that?
What you all need is the Glassbrick screen magnifier, available from Microsoft Store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/glassbrick-screen-magnifier/9n1wpwblxwwk#activetab=pivot:overviewtab
It allows you to magnify the screen and the great thing about it is that the zoomed image remains live, i.e. you can interact with it.
I have set up Shift+Mouse Wheel to zoom into and out and this has improved my Age of Conan experience tremendously.
No other magnifier works well with games.
That’s a good option but I prefer to bust out a physical loop when I need to read. Unfortunately I have a window behind me and it burned a part of my screen, but at least it makes it playable on my 4k monitor.
Thanks for posting this. This helped.
thanks for those screenshots. i managed to increase the icon size of the buffs, but i couldn’t manage to change the font size of the timers below the buff icons. do you know also how to increase this? (the fonts.xml change didnt work for me somehow)
Ok, I could manage to increase the fonts. It seems that you really need to restart age of conan to see the effect (/reloadui doesnt work).
Increasing the fonts of the buff timers (in the small grey rectangles) makes the fonts unreadable however because they wont fit in the grey rectangles anymore.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
yes it’s simple : make the grey background bigger.
How?
The easiest way is to change the picture size. You my also need to tweak the buffs icons size to fit with it.
Do you know which picture to change and where to find it?
You will have to dig into the xml !
also, put new graphics in customized/gfx to track modifications more easily.
