Game mode: Single-player Type of issue: Misc Server type: PvE Region: NA
-Aggro music keeps playing after run away or dropping aggro non stop. It seems like only by killing the npc or mob does the music stops but not always.
-NPCs stutter when seen from far way but move smoothly when close.
-NPC respawn timer is bugged to the lowest setting and can’t be changed.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.Aggro mob
2.run away or hide
3.music keeps playing non stop
After downloading the hotfix patch today and verifying Steam file integrity, I did a quick check, and this issue seems to be resolved for me. I am not OP, though. The hotfix may not solve the issue for others.
After the hotfix the issue seems resolved. The other issue that persists is the npc stuttering from far away and the respawn time. I have it at 3.0 which should be long cause I had it like that for the last week and now they respawn in 15-20 seconds tops.
I had the aggro music issue that @Dakhma describes. Just got 5/8 update and entered singleplayer game. The issue has not been fixed for me. Here’s exactly what happened:
-I aggro’d the boss croc at the lake just SE of Sinner’s Refuge. I had a Follower (Amurath the Swift) with me/
-I ran away.
-I got much farther away from the lake than I usually have to for the croc to stop pursuing and the music to fade.
-Aggro music stopped. I’m not sure if this was just the end of the loop, or if the game turned it off.
-I turned around and saw that the croc was indeed still chasing me, and that my follower was back there trying to fight it.
-aggro music started again. Seemed to be at the same time that my follower attacked the croc, but maybe coincidence.
-I hit the action key 3 times to make my follower stop fighting and follow me. He did.
-Croc seemed to stop pursuing me and follower, but music kept playing.
-Music played thru its loop at least 3 times as I returned to my base NE of Sinners Refuge. By this point the croc was nowhere in sight, and way out of the range where things seem to spawn in Singleplayer.
update:
I posted my last reply while alt-tabbed out of the game. I went back in. Music still playing. I went back to the lake where the croc spawns. It wasn’t there. Maybe it pathed off and got stuck somewhere stupid while trying to follow me? Maybe it isn’t just the music? Maybe mobs are somehow trying to pursue much longer than they used to? And they get stuck, or despawned when you go out of range but still remain in fight mode?
update 2:
music faded out and went back to normal background while I was in the little canyon south of Summoning Place. this is a different behavior than yesterday before the patch, when I moved across half of the map and the music didn’t stop. In that instance, I ran past and aggroed some mobs at the far northwest end of the river, almost to the forest, and then ran all the way back to my base near Sinners Refuge, and played for probably another hour with the aggro music playing.
Having logged several more hours in game, I’d have to say that it only works part of the time. Many successful evasions (avoiding combat, retreating, etc) cause the combat music to continue. I assume it’s a quirk of the new AI. “Combat” continues long after the enemy is beyond render range. The only guaranteed ways to stop the combat music are to unplug the speakers or exit the game.
Well, as one who was doing the testing in Testlive, it didn’t happen.
The stuttering is a new effect.
In other words, something happened between being on testlive and going live. Probably a fix for one item has now created a new side effect of the stuttering. So that should help track down the culprit and squash that bug, too.
As for the sound, I play with the music off, so I didn’t hear any changes in the music. I can’t speak for others, but for the past few years, that’s never been an issue.
As for the respawn timer, I’ve only played on its default setting. And it worked fine on default.
So, that’s why I didn’t detect it in testlive. Why didn’t @Puddy detect it in testlive?
Fortunately, Puddy, what you do not see are the number of critical fixes that were made prior to release. This was only possible through testing by those who are determined to make this the best game you’ve ever played. Volunteers, all, but fun in its own way.
This was one of the most extensive overhaul of the follower system ever. I can only imagine the hours that were put in prior to release and thank the team for them. Again, fortunately for us, they are not finished and will prioritize their work appropriately.
Your selection of a bug to call appalling pales in comparison to the problems others are experiencing, crashes, inability to connect, misbehaving followers and others. I suspect their particular hardware/software configurations were not represented on testlive.
By the way, welcome to the forums, your positive contribution is noted.
