Issues with the new purge, issues with combat in chapter 2

for the bosses i dont have a problem with it. you dont get swarmed by 30 bosses so its not really an issue. i feel that its not that the spear still has hyperarmor, but that the reach is so great and the light thrust is so quick that you can poke people at a distance before they even get in range to start their attack.

in my experience, i cant say that i agree that enemies have lost their hyper armor. any weapon they use, once their attack animation begins, its just not able to be stopped. one time, and i mean literally one single time, i saw an enemy with a 1h sword start attacking and i thrusted him with a spear and he got interrupted. i was completely shocked. ive never seen that happen again though

ok i apologize it seems i misunderstood, i see we’re on the same page with this

I completely agree.

I use four types of weapons and each one of them is agility based one.

Hammers are clumsy. Their overkill damage won’t do it for me either, the same with the great swords.

My favourites are daggers, assassin blades, short sword and katana.

I noticed that as well.

I thought it has something to do with the dmg dealt to them as well, ergo low dmg - no stagger or interruption. But I am not sure if this statement is accurate, or whether it depends on another factors.

Daggers, alas, are weak.
I never liked short swords. Right now the most powerful one on my map is the Alligator Bite. I tried for a long time to get used to it, got used to it a little, but made a choice in favor of a katana and a spear of agility. And bows, of course, the Bow of the Voidforge and the Mod bows

I hate this stupid turn change. It sounded good in theory but enemies that were already able to track you if you dodged past them are so much worse now. Attack commitment does need to be a thing.

It was supposed to be easier to hit enemies if they ran past you but I have MORE enemies moving through me like water than before. (Though half that is probably the godawful lag).

I think the turning is fun, but we didn’t know about the hyperarmor loss so that makes it almost pointless since I can’t even finish the 2h sword chop because enemies just poke and end it. Been using spears and maces for purges, these weapons don’t turn much and have so much hyperarmor against every other weapon.

hyperarmor the way it worked before chapter 2 just needs to be reinstated. the combat was totally fine. i feel that this change really breaks melee and makes one completely defenseless against large numbers of enemies. like sure, a large group should definitely have the upper hand, but with the way things are now you just cant do anything.

its like a catch 22 almost. aoe attacks are good against large numbers of enemies, but when fighting large numbers of enemies, youll never get enough attacks in to get to the aoe part of the combo thus you can never aoe because something at some point is going to tap you and break the combo. it needs to be reverted back to the way it was
