For example my keybord is azerty, so I switch the W to Z for moving forward, it work, but when I click on W it also make me go forward. Same for Inventory, I change the key to A and still i open my Inventory, same for every shortcut.
A couple of questions:
C:\Programmes (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and check if the file called Input.ini is read-only?I see my new bindings, and the file is read-only
Can you make the file writable instead of read-only and try again?
I did, it doesnât change the fact that I have two shortcut for one action
Now that the file is writable, if you open your keybindings screen, can you remove the old shortcut using the little âXâ button next to it?
If that doesnât work, can you open the Input.ini file in a text editor and tell me if you have the following line:
ActionMappings=(ActionName="ToggleInventory",Key=I,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
I got the same problem. I can change the bindings but dont overwrithe the old ones, so i have 2 bindings for 1 actionâŠ
any idea how to fix it ? =)
Potentially, yes, we fixed that on a private dedicated server last night for the admin/owner of a private, dedicated server.
Within ConanSandbox, check all folders and files to see if any have become âread onlyâ. Revert that and test again. The particular file that corrected the error was settings.ini.

for me all steam olders are set to read only⊠if i change that, it will rechange
Under what conditions does it go back to read-only? Computer restart, game restart, file validation, it just does?

Iâm having the same issue as well, though itâs making the game unplayable for me. The keybinds are retaining their old function when changed to a new function. For example, I like having my power attack bound to the âRâ key, so when I press it it power-attacks and opens the emotes menu meaning that I canât see what Iâm doing when attacking. It does this with every key and mouse button that has a previous function. Changing the .ini file seems to do absolutely nothing. I am also unable to change the files out of read only. I uncheck the read only box, a progress bar comes up with the files in the folder as if itâs doing something, but when I open properties again itâs still checked as read-only.

Weâre aware of this issue as it was reported shortly after the patch released by another player. Our team is looking into it. Weâd also recommend verifying your game folders are read only to avoid other possible issues in the future.

Just an update. After the most recent patch I am experiencing the same issues. I cannot rebind my keys without them retaining the previous function as well.

Iâm having a similar problem. I rekeyed my R button to sprint and the emote button (by default its R) to the End key. I hit the end key and it opens the emote wheel. I hit the R button to sprint and it still opens the emote wheel.
My wife and I just started playing Conan Exiles. We were very excited to get started but as soon as I got in game and switched my keybinds to start playingâŠno dice. My keys will not change. I tried resetting to default, tried logging out and back in, nothing changes them. If anyone knows how to fix this I would be most appreciative.
