The killcount for the season is counted in the way where u just need to tag ppl, and if they die, you will get the kill, this is so demotivating

Gut says it was done on purpose with nonsense uber-casual mindset to give everyone a kill.
It’s a completely stupid change, and it actually screwed the playstyle too; now it’s, tag everyone in sight first, and then start focusing targets.
OMG they need to change this fast, so stupid… No motivation of playing for this, my k/d ration is Always my secret garden, i really like when it shines, but there… no point really since we can get a super positive ratio with no challange at all
I had so many expectations for this saga server… Such a let down… So whats the point of playing if I have to pay for gear in every bracket and the Killcount cattered to casuals?, Rewards are bad, design is bad, only purpose is to milk people for the gear. Good that I didnt sub before I noticed how bad this is.

For the next update we will change the kill count to only track Killing Blows rather than kills+assists. As this is a significant change on how we track the stat, it means we’ll have to reset overall progress when the level cap is raised.
Only counting the last hit even if 99% of the damage was dealt by someone else?
So I got 5 kills for the next step of the quest, and I will now have to do it over again?
No, it will not affect that (and the change won’t go live until we patch again and raise the level cap anyhow).

So when you go to https://leaderboards.ageofconan.com/ and view “Overall”, that will be reset to 0 after we raise the level caps, as the numbers are going to be skewed due to the current mechanics. The “Overall” stat is basically going to be a character’s career history across the entire span of Saga of Blood. Right now it’s the same as “Level Cap 18” because, well, the level cap is 18.

By killing blows you do mean the same system as before, yes? Not just last hits or something?
What was wrong with the old way of attributing kills? Funcom, you better prepare for the next popular outrage if you really change it so that only killing blows will count, regardless of who did the majority of damage. 'Cos that would bring kill stealing to a whole new level.
One of the reasons I stopped doing minis is that bears and tanks got shafted by the pvp kill policy. Unless you go for kill and don’t do tanking or healing, then you just don’t stand much of a chance against the pvp kills of casters and tos/pom.
This new way was a lot more fun, since I got credit for the team, not just for what I could try and solo. So it gives an incentive to heal and to take blows for the team (I’d have four or more on me blocking for rest of team on my bear)
Will we lose progress on the “kills” for saga quest then? Like would this mean I’d have to wait until it’s fixed to finish the first part of the saga quest that requires 5 kills since they’d be reset?
AndyB answered my question about that earlier, as I got the 5 kills for the level 30 cap. He said it wouldnt affect that. Just the the leaderboard stuff. Sec and I’ll find it.

Because a necro could put up dots and leech kills even if the target ran away and fought someone else.
I think this new system works great, especially with increased fatalities.
Save your instant nueks to finish off the dude, and youll do fine on casters.
