Chests not opening, completely missing, or have no contents. This mostly seems to happen with the scorpion bossso far, but there are times I have not seen the chest, or the surrounding chests had no loot in them, at the snake boss in the Unnamed City.
Edit: Also the chest behind the first armored skeleton boss. And the other armored skeleton, both chests are missing.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Kill scorpion boss
Chest is either missing or wont open
Chest may open after trying several times trying to open it
Chests have longer respawn than the boss itself. Someone must have looted it before you. The good part is that you can use the key on any other legendary chest or just come back 30 min later and pick your reward.
It is a very low pop server. No one else looted the chest I can assure you. Normally the chest at least stays there with the lid open. So it is very unlikely.
Not for legendary chests. They normally disappear when looted. In 15ish min they respawn but cant be looted. In 30ish min they are ready to be looted. I am farming the scorpion boss myself and cant confirm this issue.
Could be something with our server. No one ever comes over here and it’s been well over 2 hours since the chests have respawned for one of the armored skeleton bosses. The chests that have silver and gold in them at the snake boss I usually cannot loot again for another 5+ hours.
Chest not opening is completely different than not showing up at all. Also having strange mesh issues happening near Sepermeru, but restarting the game seem to fix most of the problems. I am well aware that there is a respawn timer on chests.
Ghetto, this is not normal for any of the chests. To repopulate the chest, we usually destroy it. Leaving a chest with the lid open stops the contents from respawning.
It’s odd to me that, if left open, you were even able to loot it sometime later.
Also, we are not aware of what you do, or do not, know, so any suggestions can be considered as someone trying to help you.
Hmm, I’ve never seen a chest become destroyed or disappear once it’s contents are removed. I always close the lids after I loot them just in case. I have noticed some strange issues since the patch though where my clan member who is sitting right beside me can see a chest but I cannot or vise versa. However, logging out and back in seems to fix this most of the time.
Apologies if I was not clear, but I clearly read your post ‘Normally the chest at least stays there with the lid open’ and was trying to say this is not good.
The chest is not destroyed, we destroy the chest with a weapon.
Every legendary chest I have looted immediately disappeared, both in solo and online private.
I do not know which scorp boss you are farming, but I regularly hit the one on the north side of the unnamed city and the one south of Sepermeru. Both legendary, both despawn when looted. I rarely farm the unnamed city so cannot comment on that.
Based on your posts, the chest not despawning would be the first indication that something has gone wrong and that is based on the ‘legendary’ status.
Regarding other chests, they should never remain open, but that is not what you described.
Could we limit the support to the scorpion chest? Starting there may give us clues. Which scorpion?
The chest was literally not there. I had to log out and back it for it to show up. Chests were missing from a few locations, but originally noticed at the scorpion boss. Also hours pass without chest contents updating.
They were gone right when I showed up. Just hit them a few times, but they didn’t disappear. Kind of burned out from farming bosses and sounds like I’m the only one with this problem so don’t really care enough to continue with this thread at this point. Server reset usually fixes everything anyway.
More chest issues. Lately it’s been fine and I just destroy all chests after I loot them and they respawned properly. Now I’m getting an overlapping chest problem.
I was out killing in the unnamed city with 4 players. I was the only one that had no chest display on my screen. Everyone else was explaining one was wood and one was iron. ‘I am standing on it here.’ All fine and well, I know where they are supposed to be, but they were not displayed on my screen at all (official server 1500). We went around the area killing came back, killed that boss again and Voila! This time I could see the chests. We did leave and map room back in. Not sure if that is what caused the item to appear this time.
