I had seen another thread about legendary chests not working, it was locked, late as usual.
I had this problem last so I logged off real quick and then back in to see if it helped and when I got back in the chest was actually not even there. I think what’s happening is desyncing or something. The chest has already been claimed recently and hasn’t reset yet but the game is rendering it The server was really laggy last night, usually it’s not. But we some grubs in town and they’re probably meshing something
I’ve experienced this on my own where only myself and my partner play and legendary chests will not unlock or will disappear even if neither of us had claimed them since server restart.
It’s become pretty common to the point I currently have 4 keys. I have noticed it happens on specific chests, such as the Spider in Skittering Caverns, the spider at the spire near Spinebreakers Flank, and Lester the scorpion near the Tower of the Bats. Any other chest seems to be fine.
We regularly experienced this at the Rotbranch chest down on the island at the outskirts of the jungle. Luckily, there’s that chest without a boss pretty close to there so we’d head up to get that one instead if Rotbranch’s bugged out.
I have little tricks I do when they don’t open. Sometimes try standing right on top of them and look straight down at them and try to open them. Also sometimes going to one side or the other and clicking on that side also works. But yes there are still times when they just won’t but I have had luck with the tricks I just mentioned.
