I know the first clip is spear

Is this one your real ‘last’ post on it this time?

You will get it removed or nerfd and then you can fight with stone weapons.:joy:

Nothing is wrong with daggers or bow.
What about goomba

Remove target lock on players, sorts a bit of the dagger issue

EnableTargetLock=False

That works. Public servers won’t ever use that since it screws over controller users. And they intend for those to remain accessible over balanced.

Im a controller user, it would be fine

Lucky for the rest of us, they don’t change settings across all official servers just for one person’s preference.

Thats clearly not what i meant.

Target lock on players only effects pvp players, i use a controller and dont use target lock at all in fact i find it more problematic.
I cant be the only one, meaning the implied controller users need it is likely not 100% correct.

Im trying to propose a solution that doesnt involve changing specific weapons.

Also while trying to think of the effect on pve players.

But by all means, feel free to make a suggestion rather than a snarky unnecessary comment.

Again.

I bounce on and out of target lock depending on way too many variables to detail here. It has advantages and disadvantages in combat and you can royally screw yourself if you got it on and your opponent knows it. There are counter measures to it.

?

This one is just promotional.

Probably what confused @Taemien was the initial slightly passive-aggressive title and the fact that It’s tagged as feedback :stuck_out_tongue: in the General section and not in the Creative

I totally forgot the Creative section of the forums. Ooops

Not my video:

That’s actually pretty decent! I see nothing wrong with this

They’re actually aiming really well and the targets are lightly armored so rolling thrust while being used isn’t too broken for that :man_shrugging: (ofc I’d still get rid of that)
but they’re not dying from one hit, not even two.

I mean, people will die in PvP regardless
I think a lot of times what upsets people about this isn’t the damage itself
but rather the fact that when you have somebody capable with a bow, that contradicts the current “run away” meta
as they can pick you off while running
and people don’t like that since it’s been a while since they had that.

Idk
in this scenario this looked totally alright
this is what a PvP archer should look and play like imo and not the “bows are just for crippling” that was in the past :man_shrugging:

That’s why I am using bows nowadays too. I am not good at it, but It’s still more efficient than poking your target 12 times with a spear or spamming sprint attacks with other weapons. And bow is especially good in the current META where everyone is running with 20 agi, which means they are faster (getting out of melee range easier) and double jumping. It’s hard to catch people when they jump from obstacle to obstacle and you constantly have to re-equip your weapon. (meanwhile in a raiding situation, they can spam bombs 15 meters away at your base and you can’t do anything about it).

Ofc people will die. That’s what you want to achieve. And bow is currently best at it. But it’s more about viability of other weapons. Spear dominating the PvP scene for 4 years straight was also bad. But nowadays more weapons are viable (sadly not all cough javelin cough).

And you have tools to prevent people from running. Throwing axes for example. But they are a bit clunky to use. You need to utilize animation canceling to use them efficiently. (cancel the equip animation of throwing axes by double tapping a 1h weapon). You also are limited in how many axes you can carry. Mostly 20 max. It would be nice to have some kind of quick throwing button, that immediatly puts away your current weapon and throws an axe then re-equips your weapon again.

The thing is, this was only 1 archer. Imagine 6 people or even a full clan on official playing only archer and on this level → melee weapons will never have a chance.

So either a direct buff to all other weapons is needed to get closer to the DPS or an indirect buff is needed by changing the bow.

You should try it out with people. Dogs of the Desert Training server is a convenient place for that. Try to organize a 3v3/4v4/5v5/6v6 and test the results yourself. Ofc those arenas there will never represent a “real world scenario”, but they have a horse arena which uses usual terrain that gets close to it.

But isn’t this just the evolution of combat, in general? Range and ability to hit fast wins.

I don’t know if a buff to other weapons is necessary or you develop a counter like increase the defensive capabilities of heavy armor to offset ranged combat.
