This is one of the main topics for new players on our PvE official server.
This is what I tell them. Let see what you think.
This is not an absolute build, just enough to get you thinking.
Starting noob build. In this order

10 points to encumbrance: Getting overloaded when new means you get dead.
10 points grit: stamina is a good thing for running away.
10 points in agility: The more armor the better.
10 points strength: So you can beat them down.
10 points vitality: Who wants to be the wimp at the beach?
20 points: Grit
20 points: Agility
20 points: Strength
20 points Vitality
So now you can 10 in encumbrance, 20 in all but acc and survival which remain zero.

You are now level 30, and you can use the rest of the points to fill in what you what. Being a meat shield and fighter I take strength to 37 and vitality to 31.
With a potion my strength is 40, and with vitality armor my vitality is now 40. Best fighting build Ive found. (thanks Firespark81)
Str 37
Agil 20
vit 31
acc 0
grit 20
end 10
sur 0
From level 30 you can use your remaining points to fill in what kind of build you want. Some builds do not have enough points for certain builds and you have to rob Peter to pay Paul.

It all depends on how you like to play. When I’m leveling a new character, I don’t bother with any other stat except vitality until I reach level 30, which gives me vitality 30. Focusing on the journey steps will get me to level 30 pretty fast. With the reduced temperature effects and the constant regeneration, I can go almost anywhere on the map and tackle the rest of my levels any way I want.

That is what I would call the meat shield build.
A steam roller that is weak, no armor, and cant carry anything.
This is what I like about the forums. Two completely different ways of doing things.

Some one on you tube might ask Firespark81 to compare different builds to 30.
Inquiring minds what to know.

I’d definitely have some points in encumbrance, if only so you can carry some loot away with you. Otherwise you’re going to be bogged down with just your gear. Also, 10 points in agility won’t get you much in armor, but it is worthwhile for the greater sprint distance.
