Lifeblood Spear doesn't affect Vitality

The description on the Lifeblood Spear says that it “strips ones vitality in favor of a regenerating effect.”

However, my vitality and maximum health remain unchanged while equipping this weapon, and I cannot find any other negative effects associated with it either.

(Also, it should say “strips one’s vitality” instead of “strips ones vitality” as it is possessive, not plural.)
