Living Settlements to be temporarily disabled on Official servers

Thats because it’ll be turned off for months, and these goobers still count as thraw followers.

Good decision. Thanks.

Not happy about it but if it can prevent more issues for the time being then I will just have to wish for the best that it gets resolved soon. I did enjoy the update minus the issues but it only seems to affect mostly exiles lands and not siptah.

actually, those i would like back

Yuck lol :joy: they were pure cancer on pvp servers

only because siptah held no balance to EL and suddenly demigods and their magical weapons could come visit.

Isn’t that the entire idea behind Siptah?
The story as it were, that there was an island filled with refugee gribblies and they used the powers of an Eldritch Abomination to keep calling people to them as snacks until they got wiped… and then progressive groups of Acheronians and Stygians kept trying to colonize the place?

Well yeah but still they could have kept it remotely similar to the EL legendary gear.

At the risk of going way the cluck afield from the topic at hand…
This one doesn’t mind (thematically) that vault gear is near legendary tier. It brings up a whole slew of issues in transfer, ect, which could be addressed in other ways, but regardless.
The armour should be awesome, but possibly encumbering due to odd design, and offer no environmental protection, not that Siptah has much biome diversity where that would matter, but still…
The weapons should be potent… But may have something like the inbuilt stamina surcharge for Momentum as human hands were not meant for such things.

Also, EL needs some of the Siptah exclusive legendaries, because Shortsword users are clucking starving.
We don’t even have a blood crystal short sword.

The thing about Siptah acquisition that irks this one is cooking recipes. Specifically the ones that serve as prerequisites for other foods.
After all these years, this one still cannot make Herbal Tea.
Have the recipe for Iced Tea. But no Herbal…
Ayesh.

6 days and your solution is to turn off the update? Is there some classes you can take or something? I think you are in over your heads.

Thanks anyways for the update and for turning it off now, test it and come back without the bugs. Really good decision. You heard to the community. :+1:

This is now my head canon, thanks.

It’s not really different from the actual canon.
Just very reduced.
With certain key events, like the Serpentmen growing moustaches to twirl so they could give all their fellow monsters a cactus aenema, being omitted.

First there was this island.
Then a bunch of monsters who had gotten lazy and stupid got driven off after humans got sick of being eaten by them. They fled to this island.
They used dark sorcery and mystical artifacts to importune a certain Cthulhu adjacent entity to send them snacks (read: humans). In what was basically a purple people eater version of door dash.
Degeneracy and in fighting ensues.
The beasties from which YuanTi are legally distinct, had trouble getting it up, and the blue pill hadn’t been invented, and the Eldritch Abomination just laughed at them. At the same time, Humans found out where all those people eaters had gone to and enacted full exterminatis. So the scale bois decided to cluck on off with the mystical artifact.
The remnant monsters and the snake for a face rear guard locked themselves in vaults (in what could be a very interesting Fallout cross over) to wait out humans. It was surprisingly effective.
Acheronians arrived, set up a city around one of the snake vaults. The leader went a little crazy. It all collapses.
Stygians arrive years later, make camp on the opposite side from the Acheronians main city. Focus on the other snake vault as their base. This is where Siptah comes in. He’s basically the literate person in this wave. The leader is implied to be illiterate and a typical Stygian royal. Well, things go sideways and the Stygian colony implodes. Siptah drinks too much of the remnant Kool aid and goes from a soy boy to a psycho sorcerer king, in a half @$$ way reactivating most of the old magitech.
Stygians arrive (again) years later. The Bastard, his buddy with a guitar, and all his hoes post up on one side of the island. Cannibal Pirates led by an albino post up on the other side. This is about when the player, being transported by ship to the Exiled Lands, washes up on the Isle.

Thank you! We knew you were already working on the problem, and this is a great way to keep people from losing anything else while you do.

Can’t wait for the Zingaran Vineyard and any other plants you have coming to the bazaar!:heart::heart:

So will it be safe to place special T4 thralls out after this change goes live? I’m assuming we won’t lose them anymore between the time the setting is off and the time we get an actual patch but I could see the patch somehow breaking the crafters we put out while it is off. Curious what others will do.

Was up on the beta server, all my thralls are still there and at there posts.

Good call. Question is, you KNEW these issues existed because they were widely reported and yet FC still chose to go live without a thoroughly tested solution. smh.

Thank you! Is a start i guess.

This is just sad, belatedly disabling in large part one of the two major features of the new Age because it’s broken with no ETA…? On Siptah especially, this update has been a lot of trouble for nothing other than being able to dress up thralls; Exiled Lands at least has new companions.

Much better to have this feature disabled than enabled with all the bugs. But why the delay? On the 18th, I restored barkeepers on my private server database and disabled this feature the minute I saw the first thrall disappear. A professional paid dev team can’t do it until the 24th! No ETA on fixing a broken update either.

Good on all of you for doing this, but it should have been sooner, and the update shouldn’t have shipped when it did in the first place (especially on the day it did, two before the weekend) if it still needed weeks more of work. What is being done to prevent similar disasters in the future?

Funcom needs to try breaking bond on their taskmaster and swapping the driver thrall assigned to the manager’s bench with an overseer thrall. Sometimes you need durability of an item, not more damage.

Not that you don’t have a point… Last I checked the durability bonus wasn’t being applied anyway. Not for tempersmiths either.
