Map room travel crash, single player save now loads at character creation

Bug Description:

While using a map room I’d built at a base near The Mounds to travel to the obelisk down at the starting river with a horse and a thrall, the game crashed as soon as the load screen popped up. When I reloaded the game, I was presented with the character creation screen asking me to choose a gender. I have apparently just lost 338 hours of gameplay. I’ve used the map rooms a number of times (I have two) and never had a problem until now. I am utterly devastated to have lost all my progress.

Bug Reproduction:

Play the game, build a base with a map room, travel to an obelisk, have the game crash while traveling.

I tried reinstalling the game, clearing the PS5 cache, and downloading the save file from the cloud, since it was older than the one on my console. My game continues to load to the screen asking me to choose a gender. I guess I’m just not getting my character back, and it’s all just gone. Feeling really dumb for having bought some of the building DLC last week, because I don’t think I want to start all over again.

Has that been the first time that you have traveled accompanied by both a thrall and a horse?

Nope. I’d made the trip between my base at the Mounds and the southern river obelisk at least a few times with both horse and thrall.
