March Update 2025 - Release and Discussion

Map needs an overhaul for sure and it needs a coordinate system built into it for consoles.
The compass as i mentioned earlier is pretty useless on console in it’s current form as it’s just too small to keep up with on screen.
They have a bad habit of scaling down their ui and information popups for items way too much.

The least they could do is add a slider to be able to scale the fonts and all that to be more legible, it’s redonkulous trying to read anything in the game with any serious degree of accuracy.

Just found out on Siptah PVE Server 2130 that a grinder will not grind gold or silver coins. Will have a video of the grinder not in action shortly.

You probably should pick up and rebuild that grinder just to ensure it is not a bug with the Play / Stop button nature that has affected so many other benches.

Where are the SECURITY fixes against hackers ? Its impossible to play on any official PVP server. Always you will get killed by invisible players, loose your stuff…
THe NUmber of hackers is so high that sometimes they will fight each other, invisible…
Or they will steal your loot through walls and locked chests.
They kill you with “empty name” and it does not even show up on logs.

Why no one seems to care about it, when in a survival basebuilding game the most crucial priority should be fairness?

This game is unplayable. Whenever i want to play again is a frustration to just build something and get stolen and raped by hackers.

I see you don’t want people to have very powerful thralls. That is a problem at end of day Thralls themselves fall under authority skill. If it’s a skill I can use for damage by using thralls as weapons, nerfing said weapons seems kinda ridiculous. The fact that sorcerer follower could be used in pvp made it worth it. Like getting an endgame weapon, I see getting an endgame thrall the same. But if you’re are going to nerf every weapon I choose to use with my play style, what the hell is the point of continuing to play. I would like to use pets again or maybe be able to knock out bosses that are human that have a thrall for it. I would love to be able to let’s say finish a journey step then unlock a special knockout tool to be able to get let’s say arena champion. This update took my stamina and a good follower. Not to mention the amount lag on PlayStation version of the game. I’m unable to play on any exiled lands official server without blue screening 1 minute in. I forced to play on siptah now and that is also getting lag. I thought the update was going to fix all the issues that caused lag. I thought it was a performance update. This was a good update when it comes to fixing Some bugs. But only really a few exploits and basically a rebalance. I honestly can’t believe that you prioritized the appearance of a skeleton horse ■■■■ over a lot of issues game is currently facing. I literally saw that listed in patch notes. Mostly appearances of Bazaar items were addressed. Like the Corinthian couch, I don’t care if it sounds like stone when breaking it apart but apparently that was big enough issue to include in patch notes. Not to mention with all the meddling with audio files you took out sound of whole dregs dungeon. Basically the First dungeon in journey step most new players are going to go to and no audio. Great selling point especially when I’m trying to get some people to try out game and they ask me “where is the sound?” In the first dungeon. Yeah I don’t think they are going to play this anymore.

the question is how much of it really works

At least not this , especially if there is a newly placed and “locked” object behind the door , for me the thralls go to eat on the balcony where the chairs are by the chess board and they don’t care that they go through 3 locked doors and the chairs are locked too.
I mean they used to be , I’ve noticed several times that when I come in the next day some of the items I blocked are unblocked again.

In PVE it’s chaos, in PVP they must be excited…

TLDR
that I have repeatedly and demonstrably observed:

  • thralls ignore the “locking” of newly placed beds and chairs
  • thralls ignore locking doors and just keep opening them
  • object locks sometimes reset themselves
  • objects locked before the patch work as they should

Dude take a breath.

YOU are supposed to be the hero not the thrall, my opinion thralls are just side k… hero support.

They are trying to balance weapons so no one weapon becomes the end all be all. But I do wish they would find a parking space and stay in it. Constantly tweaking weapon damage, penetration, and stamina use is aggravating.

Have to agree on pets but not sure what to change. I’m not really a numbers person so wouldn’t know how to figure damage and HP.

Would like to see pet fighting style settings. Thralls change by the weapon but pets have limited options. things like set cats to stealth attacks so they only attack when the enemies back is to them. Or hyenas/wolves harass and harangue; they jump in to nip at ankles and feet to cause cripple.

Actually the change is a step back, it seems to last longer and I like the exhausted effect. Over the years Conan’s survival aspect has gone soft, so i like the effect being back. yes it takes longer for your stamina to come back up; still think it’s a bit quick at lower levels.

You’re thinking like a player not a dev, fix the easy stuff that everyone can see first.

Which was pretty much what they said it was going to be a couple weeks ago.
I wont argue the the don’t need to get their heads in to fixing console specific issues, but this update is just a huge bug hunt for low hanging fruit.

Supposedly they spent a bunch of time streamlining code, has any one noticed how fast the game loads now; PC?

Things like this are why funcom has become a verb.

If anything, it feels like the game is loading slightly slower for me now - but I didn’t take the bit about them fixing underlying code as being much to do with loading times. My understanding (could be wrong) was more that they were trying to ‘de-spaghettifi’ so that they would have better ability to fix and/or change things in future without so many random knock-on effects. I hope that’s the case - it would allow for more improvements as time goes by if they have greater control/undersatanding of the base code.

I don’t have to wait for the intro vid, the second it starts I can skip it.

Interesting - that’s how it used to be for me, but since the update I now have to wait for Conan’s first line or two before it will skip.

Yes, or a personal profiles (with saved mod liste to launch)

You’re right, as we’re finding out not everything is working as intended.

So far I’ve been able to strike off 24 fixes as confirmed from the Bugs & Issues lists and 3 that need further confirmation. There were a lot of bugs and issues in the patchnotes that I was surprised were problems. I really do hope that the spaghetti is getting unraveled

I have a 60 with a base so I can test things at that level but will also be starting fresh to see anything from there too. Unfortunately it takes time and some things I just can’t see or test (like BLB).

Everything I have tested, this far, has worked.

This is the best patch they have rolled out in years. Are there still things to do? Absolutely. But if we do not acknowledge good work, and this patch was good work, it is a failing of us akin to, “You missed a spot!” Admonishments while the job is in progress.

After an initial test, I’ve really liked most of this patch update. I especially like the stamina changes to combat. However, running seems a bit punishing. Is there any way in the future for Funcom ( @AndyB ) to keep the current “running stamina” for when “in combat” and improve the stamina drain for “out of combat” running? (Maybe a three to five second delay before ‘non-combat’ stamina drain kicks in) – that way, non-combat running across the map isn’t drained as much, and won’t be abused, when in-combat running around (or even have it go to “in combat” stamina mode when in the proximity of a player’s base to help curtail PvP combat abuse)

I’ll be glad if it works, of course, and despite the annoying “locking” object thing, I’m glad for the amount of fixes.
But of course I look first at things I’ve personally had a problem with and :

  • after the patch I rebuilt half of the furniture (and locked it as a precaution anyway) and could put back a few passages so I had a functional house but the thralls weren’t coming through my bedroom. Unfortunately they do because nothing works as it should.
  • Unfortunately the door locking just doesn’t work and the chairs/beds “unlock” themselves.
  • There is still a problem with rushing horses even though it was detailed here on the forum (for which I thank the local bug hunters) and the fix is just a simple overwrite of one value , which is a minute job ?

I absoluteley get that so many people are frustrated and lost their patience.
After so many years of delays and dead silence that’s understandable.

But i have to say this update is a step into the right direction.
Most of the fixes are minor, yes.

BUT the undead rhino counting as fighter instead of mounts was an issue for MORE THAN A YEAR! And it was reported multiple times over that time span.

Seeing it fixed is a positive sign in my opinion.
I‘m cautiously optimistic, but optimistic nonetheless.
It will Take some time and hopefully they will get to the major issues like falling through building pieces.

…Or the thrall pots and pet feeder boxes, or the long awaited pet rework.

However, i think this we shouldn’t shower them with praise. But for the first time FC is actually fixing things!
We waited long for this to happen yes…
But now that they do, we should give them a bit more time to go ahead, instead of rampaging through the forum.

We will see if that’s the turning point or just a desperate attempt destined to fail.

Never thought of my character as a hero. You’re not Conan, you’re a survivor saved by Conan. You survive and become a leader. I thought this was further proven by age of Heroes trailer. The skill Tree spells Savage for a reason. Strength, Agility, Vitality, Authority, Grit, Expertise. All these things are needed to survive. If you were a hero you wouldn’t need authority or expertise. That’s what makes you a survivor and depending on playstyle if you want to go authority and take advantage of the strength others offer I don’t see a problem with it. I don’t see any of my thralls as a side character I see them as fellow exiles trapped in the same place. At least that what story makes you believe.

I just took a peek at what’s happened in the last 24 hours

my tier 4 blacksmith died and all the furniture I locked yesterday is unlocked again.

I’ve started playing Kingdom Come 2, that’s in a different league and until I finish it I’ll just maintain what I have. I wonder how many more thralls I’ll lose (6 so far, all tier 4)

Thralls stationed at burning seige cauldrons will try to kill bar patrons.

Is your purge entrance the same as your tavern entrance?
