Platform: Microsoft Store
Issue Type: Crash
Game Mode: Single Player
Map: Exiled Lands
Mods: None
Bug Description:
After spending a few dozen hours in the Exiled Lands map building large structures in multiple locations (distant from each other) I consistantly find my game crashing when trying to load into that singleplayer save.
Bug Reproduction:
Load Exiled Lands map
Pick any location on the map
Build a structure containing upwards of 10,000 pieces
Pick another location, approximately 5 or more grid squares away
Build a structure containing upwards of 10,000 pieces
I can try giving it a go, sure, but I’ve played on a server that was pretty densely built before and had no issues.
After some thought, I’ve speculated this happens because my computer is trying to load the entire map at once, which includes all the structures I’ve built, rather than what it just needs too.
For some context, I use singleplayer to mess around with building styles and building structures in different locations. A creative canvas/archieve of sorts.
I play from the Microsft Store, where would the log file be in this case?
@HighSaint I’ve had some time to jump on a few servers. I went back to an old one I played on and found a base that dropped my frames from 60 to 10. Logged out and then back in with no crashes unlike my singleplayer save, which wasn’t dropping frames in either base I’d built.
Because I’m playing on the Microsoft Store version I’m not even sure if I can get creash logs, let alone my save file. I’ve scoured my local game files and found nothing that matches up with what my friend on Steam said his logs and save looked like.
In that case, please send us a screenshot of the error message that appears when your game crashes so that we may have additional information about the issue.
Hello again @HighSaint. I don’t get any error message or popup box when my game crashes like this. I’ve seen the Funcom Crash Report popup before, but again, never in this senario.
Could the support team get my game data from the cloud where Microsoft stores it? I’m certain my singleplayer save at least would be there.
I’ve been having this crash lock down my game for around 6 months now. The only way around it is to overwrite my old save with a brand new one which isn’t ideal. I’m constantly losing the time I put in and its getting frustrating
