Most crafter thralls disappeared after a bit of gameplay

Ok so new thing, some of the thralls that I still have show in the followers list as “Returning Home”. Looks like they are actually returning to their original home. (I think).

I tried to rescue some but it says that they don’t exist", others had recently been in combat and couldn’t be rescued.

What is this"Returning Home" business??

as off today I logged on. out of all 27 crafters i placed NOT counting my Priest thralls one for each alter… I Lost all but 1 taskmaster, 1 cook, and my Witch Doctor Alch.

Ouch. Sorry that you got Funcommed that hard, mate.

There were people who wanted to, but there weren’t many of them. And this idea was not urgent; its place was one hundred and twenty-fifth on the list.
The idea may not be bad, but it was executed terribly. Therefore, after a couple of hours of testing, I disabled live settlements.
The only plus is that the artisan’s bonuses apply to nearby workbenches. That is, it’s like he works for them.
As for me, I would like to implement the idea of fighters and archers patrolling the camp and its surroundings. I tried several mods, but none of them could implement this idea properly, without glitches.

Server Official PVE-1014
I already called this slave yesterday and he is still here today

So what do I do? Call him back? Ok let’s call him back ma…

Nothing happens, he’s still there and I have the one hour CD

It is not possible to run after slaves in order not to lose them

All I can say to date is:
Mut of Stygia: dead

Siesse Blacktonge: missing

Orgina Steeltongue: missing

Gratt Stinkfinger: missing

Other T3 and lesser slaves disappeared (they because I got tired of taking it up the ass for T4s so I tried less valuable slaves)

Can I tell you to xxx off?

a couple months, if we are lucky

they will start “investigating” the issue, and spend a year to still investigate, (such as the case of falling trhu foundations and build pieces, (yes its been this long) but hey they are still “investigating”

pain , you see @Community we told you so, you will see a lot of pain with this update, and this will keep happening until you change how you deal with patches and how it is tested. HIRE FOR GODSAKE PROFESSIONAL TESTERS… and fire whoever is in charge of QA at funcom,

yup. do hope they revert this and put our workers back as inventory items, and allow crafters to be deployed in the world if player choose to do it. or allow pick up of your crafter thralls so they can go back into storage.

@Kikigirl and i (and posibly others) asked for delays many times to funcom, we asked to take as much time , they released some fixes with the update noone fixed, bases looks like crap now, they need to bring back our crafters as inventory items and discard this mess, this was built over a flawed foundation, and will NEVER work right as it is right now. .

yes. how many times this was brought up? they did not even answer with clarity what was the purpose of testlive. @CodeMage made a direct question no one answered (obviously because they had notthing to say other than we will keep doing the same …

same as i, its a waste of time (Sadly) and i will not waste it anymore until i see actions showing their are changing.

I’m lucky, I play SP and was able to opt out of Living settlements altogether in the admin settings panel, break link with all thralls just to be safe, and replaced them once the update was disabled. I could not fathom losing the thralls for good… I mean, we spent weeks, even a month sometimes to find some thralls (GRR Legbitter comes to mind); I feel really bad… sad and angy, for all the people whose game was completly ruined, folk that do not have the luxury of turning this hellish nightmare off. I have played enough games to know that using admin cheats and mods that are not strictly cosmetic automatically ruins a game; from the instant you press that console key, your game is tainted for good and you will never feel, in my opinion, that you actually beat it. However, in this case, it is the only way. I strongly believe the only way to make everyone whole again is to do a pre-release rollback while they fix this horrible effup, but, I know, heh, that’s not gonna happen. What a shit show ot top of a dumpster fire this is (Pardonnez mon français).

As a silver lining, thet did fix my Bloodletter shield. Boy did this bothered me before, and if you can turn the damned thing off, the update did bring a lot of cool features. @Wilma_B_Steigen the shield, ya know, one of those insignifficant little details from a payed DLC that bothers us selfish people. Good thing there are, evidently, many of us.

I noticed there’s an option “Living settlements enabled” in general server settings. If we disable it we still can place crafters but they stay where they have been placed. Can be in a bench or in another place. This removes the “alive” effect but it could maybe be a temporary solution. I don’t know if some has tried this on a server. I only tested in solo.

I see that this thread and forum section was not on my radar. :frowning:

Please see these threads regarding missing artisan/crafter thralls:

If you can do that it means you are an admin. On the first tab of settings, there is a check where you can opt out. Now, many crafters will be trapped inside stations and will not be represented in the world. As an admin, I recommend disabling Living Settlements as an imperative, heh, and break-bond and admin replace each and every single thrall, even if they survived the “rapture”, no carry-overs, start clean.

Where did you get the idea? If you uncheck the box in the settings, crafters will not wander in and around the base. But they will remain as placeable thralls.

Sure, that would be great if they were visible even if they register at your base. I didn’t “get” the idea, it happened to me.

I don’t know what happened to you, but you’re writing nonsense, sorry.
I disabled live settlements in my single player game and now I just have a bunch of crafter thralls that I can place anywhere, drag around and level up however I want.

You are right, I am making up nonsense for PR gain

Are you trying to convince forum members that you can’t place your crafters in the world? Or did you just not try to do it?

Sigh… very well: You must have missed the copious amount of reports of thralls registering at your base in your followers list, listed on the artisan tab in the crafting stations, yet physically, the thrall is simply not there, anywhere in the base. Since you cannot pull out a thrall from the station directly anymore (The stations simply acknowledge their presence), this means you have no access to the avatar of the thrall since it is invisible, or somewhere under the mesh into the void, you cannot interact with them directly or move them to another base. Chances are the invisible thralls will eventually disappear from your thrall list alltogether. Ergo, disable update, erase all artisans and spawn them back… or not, do whatever you will. Did I explained myself clearly?

@Teng I think you’ve misunderstood @Boulderkin. What I believe they were saying is that if you turn off living settlements (if you have access to do so), this won’t necessarily solve missing crafters. Any that were MIA with the setting enabled will still be gone and won’t be rescued just by disabling this setting.

Here is this text: “Now, many crafters will be trapped inside stations and will not be represented in the world” very difficult to misunderstand, IMHO.
As I understand it, at best the author misinformed the forum members and me.

You are quoting exactly what I have taken the time to explain to you. I see now I am wasting my time, If you were not capable of understanding why some crafters would be trapped, that is your personal misgiving. A simple question would have been enough. Accusations and ad-hominems are the stuff of people uncapable of understanding, or at least asking respectfully something as basic as that, apparently. Now I regret finally taking the time to respond to someone who writes like that; lesson learned. I shall leave you with your preacious last word, enjoy, henceforth I am simply going to ignore you.

Absolutely unbelievable and pretty disgusting that this kind of a bug is out there and affecting so much of the player base. I have lost 23 crafter thralls and my wife has lost 12. There is no excuse for this and honestly, the devs should be ashamed. This is a pathetic and horrible situation for the game. It is borderline unforgivable.

We play on a dedicated server and thankfully we could enter admin and bring them back. But there is no way I am putting them back down until this is FIXED. It truly is PATHETIC. I am at the point that I feel sorry for your entire team. You have an amazing game and an incredible IP and you just keep absolutely, dropping the ball. Over and Over and OVER again! I was rooting for you folks at Funcom because we A … D … O … R … E … Conan Exiles. It could be SOOOO good. But you have GOT to stop with these pathetic bug issues. What in the world are you doing?
