My first play session in the Age of War!

Nah, they fall with every single stone weapon . Bow it’s just extremely slow, so i wouldn’t recommend it .

True and the jhil children bosses are omg, really tough still.
I believe avalanche (rockslide) is a category on it’s own, for me at least :man_shrugging:.

Yeah, but you were crazy enough to solo one rockslide back in the day their hp was above 4k, @stelagel .

I think they need to rethink difficulties. You shouldn’t be able to beat a world boss with crap weapons. They could grant them imunity to anything bellow hardened steel, but we’de be beating northeimer camps in no time to steal their weapons, so they would have to remove them from the drop tables. We get to lvl 60 in a couple of days, @stelagel . It wouldn’t do much good. I have no idea how many new players Conan is getting, but I bet most of the player base is experienced. I would make leaps of difficulty, you know? It would be nearly impossible to beat one tier above without reaching it ourselves. There’s several ways they could do this, linking some combat stats to the research tree, for instance.

Oh trust me it would. It’s how the game started. We couldn’t open skeleton key chests without being lvl 60 first. This was forcing us to upgrade our weapons until 60. So we had a natural weapon and armor upgrade. The problem with the early legendary weapons affected the armor upgrade also. Years now i loot armor pieces until i go 60, i don’t feel the need to fix armor :man_shrugging:. The reason is simple! The power of the legendary weapons. They allow you to kill everything on your road non stop, without durability issues because you can one shot almost everything in your way and before you know it you killed 20 world bosses too in 3 hours gaming and “poof” you are 60!
Don’t get me wrong! I ain’t complaining here, i love it as it is . And even if this happens i will still jump from stone to legendaries, i “earn” it all these years and i played the “other way” a fair amount of hours. Plus i am speaking only about the skeleton key bosses. The others will stay as they are! A player can always go to warmakers or unnamed city and try his-her luck :man_shrugging:.

It was this way! And low tier weapons grind lower xp because everything goes slower. You simply kill less and avoid hard battles.

@stelagel sure, you make a good point.
It’s the power of legendaries that allows us to level so fast. Even if we farmed the small camps around the mounds and the lone berserker, they don’t drop star metal weapons as far as I can remember, so that could actually work.
And it is an easy fix. I would support it completely!

I can’t speak for all of them, but our PvE server has had a massive influx of Ark players. I spoke with a couple of them, and at least 20 are from the same Ark server, and there are plenty more. We usually have 30+ on in the evenings. I counted 17 players taking naps in the gardens of our river base. It’s almost as bad as the Free April on PS in 2019. It was hard to even get in the game there were so many people.

It would be fine, but these people can’t build a lemonade stand. Who sees a main path and thinks, “What we need here is a giant base with walls blocking the way.”

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

No stel it wouldn´t. You can level to 60 in a couple of hours. You do not need a good weapon to go to the jungle and make a lot of xp in a very short amount of time.

You see the game has no consistent learning curve. The AI is dumb. So its pretty easy to kill anything. Therefore leveling to 60 is no problem at all. And with the resent changes its has become a cake walk. Literally.

I would agree to what you say, at least to a degree, when the game would have a more persistent xp curve and didn´t let you level that fast. But as is, loging keys to level 60 only means a minor inconvenience.

Don’t say that, @Winthor or they’ll nerf the xp we gain from killing grey apes and levelling thralls will become an even worse pain in the butt than it already is!

I agree!
You’re missing the point here @Winthor, the problem is not what veterans will do. The problem is how new players will respect the growth! How they will “feel” the necessity of it.
Nerfing the stone weapons was a correct move. Lock the “easy” chests too and you’ll see them growing correctly! After all you must not forget, THIS, was the way we learned the game! At this time the games population was humongous.
The thralls was s…t in all the ways, our strength was low, the map was difficult and unknown and the legendary weapons a dreamy goal. We idore the game this way however :man_shrugging:.
Back then learning how to grow fast and upgrade your weapons and armor fast was a main goal.
Especially the khitan caravans went too far of making the game humiliating easy.
It was a good call they removed this s…t.

Too late. Everything got the XP nerf.

They could stop us from doing it.
How? Difficulty leaps. You simply couldn’t kill a berserker with crappy weapons, for instance. They were granted imunity or minute damage until hardened steel or even star metal, for instance. Same for the fauna etc. The game would have a progression. World bosses could only be killed with top tier crafted weapons, for instance.
This wouldn’t affect players who don’t want to restart, because they already have chests of mats and weapons, armors etc, but would make the game more interesting for those who do.
You couldn’t think about going straight to the mounds after leaving the desert because you wouldn’t be able to kill shit there. Stone would do for exiles, iron for darfaris, steel for black hand and dogs, hardned steel for nordheimers, star metal for cimmerians, obsidian for volcano, legendaries for the well of skelos, as an example.

Yep, Tower of the Bat and the huge iron field near it. My smelting camp is right there, the place on the 5th screenshot you posted, it’s within Darfari lands, just like i said.

Of course, you can always dodge human camps and go through wildlife instead, you can dodge humans all the way to the Frozen Wastes if you like. You can dodge wildlife too, just climb a tree or a rock and wait for them to go away or just outrun them, we have nearly unlimited stamina for that now. But what’s the point of that?

And once again, i’d like to ask, what’s the point of that Cannibal Champion and his unique Darfari Axe when i come there with a better weapon?
Why should i come back to Darfari with an iron weapon? I can find some brimstone just at the entrance of Sinner’s Refuge and Gallaman’s tomb right near the Noob River, take some tar from my tannery and make steel. But once i make steel weapons i don’t have any interest in Darafari at all, i can move forward.

You can dodge humans up to the Degenerate in the Well of Skellos.

We agree .
I do understand your point!
Sometimes, some things in these maps just doesn’t worth the effort :man_shrugging:. The same happens with almost all the library recipes, you gain them just to have them, literally no other reason. Or in Siptah you’ll grind your a… to gain recipes for literally expensive and worthless weapons or armors .
Yes, in this point we totally agree fellow exile @WildCat. A great content of the game, somehow, seems meaningless no matter the update all these years. It just exists to create more content to an already huge content.

Going back to the time when you needed to be lvl 60 to open chest with a skeleton key won’t change the difficulty to get a legendary weapon, except for solo player. But for a player member of a clan, his / her low level toon will just need to open a chest from the clan to pick up one of the legendary weapons stored inside.

I would lock their use until you crafted a obsidian weapon. If the game detects challenge completion, it can detect this. Link it to a journey step: craft an obsidian weapon.

True :+1:t6:. But this was a good reason to clan up even in pve servers. Clan work means team work and of course it must be more beneficial. In these times @Wolfrider4594 i was playing pvp and not many people knew how to run around the map naked and retrieve all the obelisks. Not many people were 60 on day two and day three the base had all the goodies for the clan. I wasn’t raiding, stealing or whatever people love to do in pvp servers, i was running in a constant full encumbrance build, avoiding all the fights with a “master” on vanishing from enemy sight and filling the base with all the necessary for them to fight and raid as much as they wish.
So yes, i agree legendary weapons were very easy to obtain and share in clans, but you do remember that dragon bone weapons were not so far from legendary weapons, their difference was just a few. So a pvp player wouldn’t have to risk legendary weapons and gear on fights :man_shrugging: and all you had to do is carry some dragonbones on your inventory to repair your weapon. All the top tier weapons were “close”. Legendaries had just the extra atribute points to help a build be completed.
In any case, i am not complaining about the updates, i like it as it is and personaly i don’t give a dime about how things are. Hopefully i have great imagination to make it hard for me . And i really like the fact that i can open a skeleton key chest in low lvls, i enjoy it a lot actually. It helps a lot to grow fast. But we have to admit that it doesn’t help the “correct progression” of the game. (who cares :rofl::rofl:)

i never needed that pvp fighting part, for me complet wast of change and most of the new annoying changes are just garbage…

I never used dragonbones weapons because they’re too heavy. Since I started the game I’ve always preferred to use a light armour build with daggers and 1h axes or sword, relying on quickness to avoid being hit rather than being encumbered by a big and heavy armour.
I don’t even understand why so much people are fixated to use heavy armour + 2h sword or another 2h weapons. Is it because it gives them a feeling of being bad ass ?
But after trying the New Âge of CE yesterday in single player. Just a little, my character was lvl 17 when I stopped playing and I played on sitptah. But so far I like the changes . With daggers or 1h sword / axe it’s possible to do a full combo before going out of stamina, even at very low level without any points in Grit. The creatures’s AI is as stupid as it has ever be. So, running out of stamina isn’t a problem since you can just make a move to get away and not be hit.
The only problem I experienced is my toon wanting to walk when she was not over encumbered I didn’t hit the key (backspace for me) to enable walking; And a refusal to sprint when I hit left shift while she still wasn’t over encumbered. Endless dodge could be dangerous when there’s a cliff nearby and you forgot it. The only times I died during this session.
Is the reduced aggro range enabled for for all creatures or only for Exiles NPCs ? Because the dogs on the beach and other animals while going up the western river were aggroing my toon from as far as they always did. Or it was the sensation I had.
