During a named thrall capture attempt, the NPC leash/reset behavior caused the named fighter to regain full health/consciousness even though I was still nearby and still fighting in the same camp area.
The named fighter was located in the back area of the camp. During normal combat, she can chase the player across a large part of the village without resetting. However, during my capture attempt, after I had lowered her health/consciousness very low, she moved only a short distance back toward her spawn area and reset to full health/consciousness.
This feels inconsistent because the NPC is allowed to chase the player far across the village, but can still reset after moving only a short distance while still inside the same back camp area. This wipes out a long capture attempt, especially when using a truncheon where it can take a very long time to lower the consciousness bar.
Another issue is that nearby NPCs respawned during the active fight. After clearing the surrounding enemies, they respawned while I was still fighting the named NPC, forcing me to fight multiple enemies while also trying to keep the named NPC from resetting.
Expected Behavior:
Named NPCs should not instantly regain full health/consciousness during active combat when the player is still nearby in the same camp. Knockout progress should persist or decay slowly for a short period. Nearby NPC respawns should also be delayed while an active named NPC capture fight is happening nearby.
Actual Behavior:
The named fighter reset to full health/consciousness after returning only a short distance toward spawn, despite the player being nearby and still in the camp. Nearby NPCs also respawned during the active capture fight.
Bug Reproduction:
-
Join Official Server 3601 on PlayStation 5.
-
Go to a named fighter NPC spawn in the Exiled Lands.
-
Clear nearby NPCs around the named fighter.
-
Begin fighting the named fighter with a truncheon to attempt a thrall capture.
-
Keep the fight in or near the back area of the camp where the named fighter spawns.
-
Lower the named fighter’s health/consciousness bar close to empty.
-
Allow the named fighter to move/run a short distance back toward her spawn point.
-
The named fighter can reset to full health/consciousness even though the player is still nearby and still in the same camp area.
-
If the fight lasts long enough, nearby NPCs can respawn during the active capture attempt and attack the player, forcing the player to move away and increasing the chance that the named fighter resets.
