I’m on the Isle of Siptah and just created a new character in single player that is a samurai lord who uses both a katana and a bow. I was wondering what should I put my points into?
He primarily uses the bow and uses the katana for close combat.
Also I plan on building this for him and was wondering if anyone knew of some good large open locations that are flat with some trees around it to add to the look?
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that there’s a large, flat area all around that big black tower sticking up in the middle of the island. Only gets slightly windy from time to time. 
Try C-6 and build from the shore into the lake just above the water line. You could do that build as a 7 wide x 12 long one easily (used the stairs as a build size reference). As for stats, look at your armour set of choice and build around that.

I was thinking of building a stone slanted plarform with a wall around the top like this and then placing the building in the first image inside of the walls.
9 x 14 still fits. My base has a fully ramped foundation and fits just fine at the coordinates I provided. Hell, give me an hour and I could probably build your base for funzies there. Seeing you’re on xbox, I can send you screenshots to your GT if you like
