New Battlepass challenges

I hate the new battle pass challenges. The battlepasses used to keep me motivated to play Conan, but I hate the challenges you need to do now, and there’s no more reroll. If this is the future of the battlepasses then this is my last one. I might just stop playing Conan because I’m tired of the constant changes to how the game play.

I feel you, but they made it so you dont have to do them tho, i mean its only 8 levels you get from doing them, and thats for the whole week. You can get 8 levels a day just from messing around, levels pop for me while im just crafting basic crap, or doing my daily Warmaker legendary chest farm. Just ignore them, playing the game now just gets you battle pass levels.

One thing I’ve noticed about the new battlepass system is it is very much showing us who’s actively playing and who isn’t.

I have seen one unique complaint about the new battlepass. And that issue is NEVER brought up in these discussions. Everyone else is going on similarly to how the OP has.

The previous Battlepass took about 80 Challenges to complete. And would take around 14-15 days to complete if someone only used their 10x bonuses, taking about 2-3 hours on average total. Those that didn’t could complete it around 650 challenges and if using mods and admin panel, could do it in about 2-3 days, and this would take significantly more time total played to do (but at a minute a challenge, that’s a minimum 11 hours of play).

Regular casual play would take significantly longer, especially if no mods or admin commands were present.

The current one takes a minimum 7 days to complete, 6 if you do one set of the challenges. Total time played is about 30-45 minutes if done using an efficient method. Not much longer if done through casual ‘average’ play and admin commands and mods are not required for either to complete quickly.

I did quite a bit of testing and trial and error on the battlepass when this patch went live. What I found is for the player who wishes to finish the battlepass and plays the game in a normal average and casual way, it is vastly superior in what you can do to complete the battlepass, as well as the time spent total.

There can be challenges that are a struggle to complete. And some players (I know a few) who wouldn’t even be capable of completing some of them (such as killing 3 demonic wolves) due to their own abilities. But that only adds a day to the wait time to complete the whole thing.

The ones who have a complete detriment compared to before are the ones willing to complete several hundred challenges in a single sitting. Can’t do that due to the time gate of 8,000xp per day. The OP doesn’t seem like he is someone willing to do nearly 700 challenges in a single day. When you’re doing that many challenges, 3 rerolls are kinda insubstantial.

One major issue I have with the challenges is it will give you map specific ones. That probably should be removed. I think Challenges should be map agnostic. Not everyone plays or has Isle of Siptah and not everyone even plays Isle of Siptah or Exiled Lands.

The new system and idea is nice.

But the challenges they created are bad. Like for example defeat 3 creatures that are not on the map and there is like 5% chance that they will spawn after you kill a normal mob.

It’s supposed to be a game for adults, but now it’s drifting towards unemployed niche who have time to farm mobs 18 hours a day.

I’ll give it a try. But when I look at the challenges I just don’t feel like doing any of them. I had no complaints about previous challenges.

My biggest issue is completing the challenges offered, and then waiting to get new ones a week later. This is turning into one of those facebook games where I’m limited in h ow many moves I can make. Is the next patch going to bring a payable way to unlock new moves?
Someone said Funcom was bought out… I’m guessing it was by a company known for its pay-to-win games. Already cancelled any intentions of buying Dune. I just paid money to get my game broken, my content restricted, and I’m done with it. All of these AGES have been horribly done, with very low quality, bad implementation, and limited imagination. And most of it is just cosmetic crap without function. Here, buy an altar for sacrifices that’s really just a table, $10 please. Butt Worthless.

Think about it this way. The challenges in the previous version were the ONLY way to complete the Battlepass. Those challenges were replaced by all crafting (cept handcrafting), killing, and gathering. Crafting, Killing, and Gathering are the new challenges. Instead of having a choice of three things, you can do pretty much anything you want.

The three weekly challenges are just bonus on top. They can even be ignored. That only adds around a day to the time to complete the battlepass.

I gave it a go and I still think it’s crap. I need 1000 exp to get to level 2. I decided to get rid of a teleporter I don’t use so I went on. On my journey back to base I killed 4 Old Ones, a tall Ogre, 3 bandits, about a dozen salamanders, a dog, 2 elks, and a King elk. I finished with around 274 exp of the 1000 I need to get to level 2 of the battle pass. I also harvested one tree and one rock to see what I get. I got 1 exp for each! So I need to harvest 1000 things to get to level 2! Bullcrap! This is lame

The higher stuff you kill and harvest as well as craft gives more exp.

Just play the game normally and the stuff will add up. If you’re just logging in for a few minutes and expecting to get 8,000exp in that time, its not going to happen without significant stores of materials.

i feel you. I was excited for Dune when I heard about it but not now.

For me it’s slower. I killed more then a dozen random enemies and got around 200 exp. I harvested one rock and one tree and got 1 exp each. My base is nearly finished so I don’t need to go around harvesting, crafting, a whole bunch of stuff I don’t need to work on my battle pass. If I was starting over and needing to do all of that then maybe, but I don’t. The old system of harvesting 10 trees for 30 points with a times 10 multiplier was much faster then being forced to harvest and craft cfap I don’t need. I was flying through battle passes with the old system, now it’s a snails crawl. This will probably be my last battle pass

I mean if you have everything already. Just queue up 300 crafts of high tier items per day split between 5 campaign benches and have your daily cap done in about 2 minutes.

I’d still have to go out and harvest the stuff to put in the campaign benches to craft stuff I don’t need because I already have chests full of weapons and armour I already don’t need. All my thralls are fully equipped and are barely used since funcom revamped the purges. I miss the imminent threat of the old purges. Your solution isn’t much of a solution, still requires more grinding then the old system. I used to get 2 levels before just by killing a baby dragon with a x10 multiplier on it.

admin spawned mobs dont count on completion now, kill demonic wolfs challenge sucks, they 2%^change to spawn even on admin and slowmo 100 it takes ages! Why in the hell would we lose all this time in a boring task like this?? Wtf old games need to be faster, and they slowed everything, craft time, battles pass completion, lvl thralls is pain, they die in no time and take ages to lvl, i lost a rhino other day and did another, but after i played some hours killing monkeys to lvl it, it stills in lvl 10, i got totaly ummotivated to continue playing at such slow growing rates. The only worth on doing almearyh siege was to lvl followers faster and they removed it.

if at least white wolf was 1 skull like before it would be less boring

is there a limit to advance per day? I completed some tiers today and at certain point kiling enemies does no grant progress anymore

Yes. Apparently you can earn 8000 Battle Pass exp per day.

Everytime I was doing these for 700exp, I was like what the fck am I doing?!
Lucky I don’t have to play with this old silly mechanism forcing my hands again.

Those things were kind of arbitrary and boring. Now we can get 2,500 for killing a few corrupted hyenas and get at least that much while doing it with the exp gained from other sources.

I haven’t been playing on live much. Not much to do there other then weeklies, base maintenance and such. I’m almost done with the pass. Haven’t really tried that hard. If the challenged wasn’t doable or just took more effort then I was whiling to put in to it, I just didn’t.

Not saying some of the challenges aren’t bugged and need to be fixed. Just saying you can get through it regardless.

I agree some of the old ones felt like chores. But at least you could do (most of) them when you felt like it.

Now, too many of the challenges are “slay x monsters that have a minuscule random chance to spawn”. It’s that random element that I dislike because whether or not I can complete those challenges doesn’t depend on me, it depends on whether I get lucky.
