New building pieces speculation?

In the last stream, new building pieces were teased. I absolutely love (and obsess) over the the building in this game, and am curious what everyone thinks they’ll be adding. I read somewhere that it would be new pieces, not reskins of pieces in the game. So what do you all think they’ll be?

I’m hoping for:
Archways
Double doors
A door or window 2 stories tall
Bigger windows
Scaffolding (and something like the rope pieces seen in the stream)
New drawbridges and/or dlc themed drawbridges

I hope they’ll also include half walls (no spikes) and increase the snap points to foundation and ceiling corners for pillars so we can put pillars on the ends of a wall whether its on a square or triangle piece.

All of the suggestions sound good. I’d also like to see inverted stair corners.

I’d just settle for seamless tileable direction-agnostic parquette floors

And ceilings, and interior walls with the inside and outside identical (i realize fence foundations are great for that endeavour, but still, walls would be easier to manage)

Perfectly cylindrical pillars with classic greek texture on it for variable scaling. (I realize greek pillars are slightly curved, but that makes them look awkward when stacked)

What’s wrong with having some timeless classics for once?

Maybe windows for windows frame too. (and, yes, bigger windows frame would be cool)

I dont remember anything like this, did I miss something?

Anyway, I doubt there will be a proper building piece - like a new shape of foundation - to much work incorporating them in the previous DLC packs, too much work addressing snapping and stability issues. What they could really do is add some sort of cheap ground planning “foundations” - like there was in the architect mod they where showcasing.
Right now everyone has to use a t1 to lay out ground plans for future building or to insure different buildings will actually connect - when building bridges or skyways. The resulting bridge over some narrow gorge could be 6-7 tiles long, but because you cant really see the end point, you have to build all the way down to the bottom, across the gorge and up. This will take time and resources - and because you rarely need all those “alignment” foundations, you will often destroy them loosing good chunk of wood and stone. New planning pieces could address this problem.

Planning pieces, aka “T0” are fairly high on my list, as are alternative T1 or (my personal preference) T2 options. T3 has and will likely continue to get plenty of alternate forms through DLC, so they’re already in a good place.

What I want more than anything though are:
More options for water (without building on pre-existing lakes). Craftable aqueducts would be amazing!
Bigger gates/doors without going to the massive 3x4 gates we currently have.
Something, whether it’s building pieces or a non-idiot AI that allows Archers to work without standing unprotected.
More wall decorations, and - while probably a complete pipedream - customizable banners (from presets, so like WoW tabards) would be
i n s a n e l y
c o o l !

(split the banners suggestion into its own topic, found here: Custom Banners - possible?)

Yeah I know, I should’ve been more specific. I meant for outer walls, which often end up being large flat expanses of stone.

I do try my best to make them less boring and do a fair job of it if I say so myself, but even so more options (particularly the banners one) would be pretty sweet.

Building damage, I want my immersion to be living in a ruin, not a palace.

So the debris that is left when structures are destroyed, u want that to stay until manually removed? gotta move this pile of bricks so I can get to the chest I need. Ooops, need some water - let me climb over these beams and push this door to the side clunk.
Just so stubborn you won’t fix it or clean it up :star_struck: :smiling_imp:

Glass windows. Need.

I don’t care for speculations.

I want these pieces :

  • inverted sloped ramp corners
  • wedge sloped ramps
  • inverted wedge sloped ramps
  • actual window-sized windows

Yeah, there’s a ton if rubble in the jungles. Honestly, if I could fit my hoarding, and defend it against a purge, I’d live in a sail tent, like the npc camps. Ruins would be next best thing.

Arched/gothic doors and windows plix, oh and MACHICOLATIONS (go shad) for my castles. And more stony building pieces.

Functioning archer loop holes would be great, or maybe real base defenses like murder holes where u can drop loads of stone on attackers

I’ve read about 12 foundation min for purge to locate…perhaps a tent and small storehouse hidden properly could be a purge-free lifestyle?
Edited to add: actually have a 9 foundation “bolthole” that has never been purged. And you can stuff easily 3 vaults of stuff in a 2x2x1 full of chests

Apologies, i like the purge, but i get one every three weeks if i go hard in the paint. But the purge would one shot my tent sail lol.

This was my former base, very open to the public, even during PvP hours. Problem was neighbors, so I’ve relocated.

It’s not as ruined as I would like, but I didn’t want symmetry too much either, kinda… point of interest inspired.

How about an actual triangle?

Inverted awnings. Depending on your build you can get annoying gaps
