No, as opposed to:
- analyzing the technical motivations behind the change
- explaining why the change will negatively affect some of us
- rationally discussing one counterargument after another
- answering questions about the differences in playstyles
- pointing out unintended consequences of the change
- giving several different suggestions on how the change might be tweaked, improved or complemented
- summarizing different threads of discussion for people who don’t want to wade through extremely long threads.
All of that takes a lot of effort, unlike oversimplifying everyone’s complaints and dismissing them through reductionist arguments – that takes much less effort.
