Nope. I’d imagine this is actually a pretty common problem on a lot of servers.
I anticipate the real challenge is a performance problem with the new system, but there should be a much more elegant way to do that.
A suggested refinement:
- Keep the current system as-is for all current and future thralls when placed.
- After the system rolls out, when you have a thrall/pet Follow you, promote them to an Elite Follower that uses the new system. That way both new and old thralls can flow into the new system. Adventuring with you is described as the only way to gain XP so it’s no different when it comes to opportunity to level.
- Implement a cap on Elite Followers as suggested, but when exceeded, the elite follower with the least XP demotes to being an ordinary thrall (that presumably no longer takes excessive server resources)
Nope… Not on the PvE sever I play… All trolls are gone… All strange roads through the maps gone… Most of them were gone with the 14days decay timer.
Some servers are just full with trolls. Thats it.
I guess my server is just weird.
And I see every week new players, which I often help… With some I still write message everyday.
All the thrall armies which were enough during the free PS+ time are also gone… All with the 14day decay timer.
My mainbase was walled of from 2 sites… All gone If you dont feed the trolls, they get bored and will leave anyway.
But I understand your problem with (flying) thrall armies where the base decayed…
Legit question, not trying to be mean or anything.
Why do your maprooms need followers on a PvE server? Generally curious.
It can be targed by purges… Every building can be targed by purges.
Only have 1 maproom without a base, but have there 0 thralls… But I understand the reason to put one there.
Purge defense mainly, and also to serve as a safer location to retreat to.
Each map-room has 12 archers for defense and an entertainer to cure corruption.

the idea behind this is to also counter the base spams people do. spread your thrall more efficiently and you shouldnt have an issue. also if all the troll are “gone” then why do you need an absolute poop load what are they defending you from? purges only need 3-4 thrall max and even then thrall are more for personal escort and buying time to defend then to actually defend a base. im losting maybe 2/3 of my thralls with this update but im more then happy to see it come as it opens up a more engaging playstyle.
Ok, so if I reduce the thralls guarding my map-rooms to three archers and an entertainer each, that will be only… oh wait… 44 thralls, leaving me with 11 more for everything else…
dont have so many things to protect? odds of just a map room being targeted are slim to none your reaching my dude
Nonsense. My map-rooms have been targeted by purges many times.
and how hard is it for you to defend a map room…
I am 100% with you Tephra as you provide us players with a service by allowing your Map rooms to be safe environments to Grab a drink clean your non-needed supplies and I myself have seen your Map room being attacked. You may not always be in the area that is being attacked at that moment that is why you have a Legion of Archers and a Dancer to assist in that particular purge
PVE Servers should not be touched I can agree with the PVP servers making these changes but Let the PVE servers be.
I play this game every single day since I purchased it which was 1 year and 1 month ago and I truly am happy that every few months they release something new for me to play and that is why I stay where I am at. I have played many PVE and PVP servers but have had the most success with the PVE servers because of the no Lag issues that I have had since switching to PVE.
I’m not sure where you’re coming from on this Jakenbitss and there is no reason for your tone (Feels like a troll.). Tephra is our main support for our server (Official PVE Server). They have many map room locations that help maintain our player base. They can’t always be on to defend purges. This is what the thralls are for, defending offline. We have a small population of our main players and we experience no issues with lag due to base sizes, or thralls/pets. This is our community that we have worked on from day one. I’m not going to stand for this change. This change is mainly to support pvp, which we have none. Leave our pve servers alone!

i dont play pve and im alpha on my server.
I have a clan of 9 on a pve conflict server , 3 major bases . Problem I’m gonna have moving forward is I work a lot and don’t always have time for a purge . Purges spawn all over the place an are never consistent. I have roughly 75 thralls guarding my base other members have 75 combined .that’s 150 thralls for 3 bases which I would consider mild . The cap should be re-evaluated . Been playing for months an have a nice sized base that needs thralls to defend it. If they do implement a thrall cap, we should have more notice for purges to defend properly.
That doesn’t change anything you don’t need 300 thrall to defend map room you can do it with 1 t4 fighter and yourself purges are also telegraphed pretty largely so I have 0 idea what my comments on another forum have to do with what’s being said here. People want the thrall for slef serving reason without even giving it a chance
