So just why do you need 4 bases to start with, on pvp that just makes it so others can not find a decent place to build, this is just wrong. These servers are not meant so two clans can have 10,000 thralls and 19 bases come on its for everyone to have a chance at the game, EVERYONE not just the ones with a ton of thralls who can hid behind the thralls and rest of the server can not stand a chance when you all raid them as you have 10,000 thralls. You all need to come down from the throne and play a fair game for everyone. This change will make it fair to smaller clans and groups and make the server a place maybe people want to play again instead of getting beat and killed by the bigger clans with hundreds of thralls as defenders.
Or maybe, just maybe, we could all spend a little bit more time reading more than one particular post in the whole thread. That way we could see that many people have explained – in detail – how many thralls they have, how they use them, where they’re placed, etc. And that would prevent us from saying that the problem is that people think they need 400 thralls for one base, which, you know, might not be what people are actually saying ![]()
But how many times have thay deleted your hard work something that has taken you a lot of time
Easy answer. Anyone can have a base that size if they so wish. The principle of building in the game was that there was no limits. The developers said that from day 1.
So, if I wish to make a base the size of the Unnamed city, there is nothing anyone can do to stop me (aside from blowing it up if its on a pvp server). Now, granted, I wouldn’t build one that big…but pick another spot you build, lets say on a mountain. You have your main keep part, heavily built, heavily defended. You likely then have some open space around it on the mountain…fill with pets, thralls, archers on some towers, some traps etc. Past that, you can build a wall to keep people from climbing into the courtyard so easily. Put archers all along the top to slow climbers. All these defences are a part of the game, intended for us to use as much as we like. We are free to build and create what we desire, with NO limitations.
If you don’t like someones big monster of a base…blow it up. Its its on a pve server, relocate away from it and let them build how they want to.
Yeah fair game is make a small base size of 4 foundations, hidden in a tree. Where nobody is able to find you.
I prefer fight a clan with lots of big bases and tons of fighters around… saying it’s not fair to have multiple bases? You need reset the timer, if you forget 1 time your base is gone.
Btw did the game say ; survive, build and dominate?
Can I get directions to this magical fair world where people play an honorable game? That would be a place where you wouldn’t have to worry about your base being attacked while you were offline, in which case I would actually be ok with the thrall cap.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, if you don’t put in the work to beef up your base/defenses then I don’t really see how it’s fair that your base would be as difficult to raid as someone that does.
I’ve played as a solo clan on an official PvP server, and was able to stock my base with enough thralls that it was as difficult to raid as any other larger clan’s base in that server.
You’re kidding, right? I’ve lost count of times they have made my efforts worthless. Here’s an example off the top of my head: I spent an unconscionable amount of time farming Undead City bosses to get a few Lifeblood Spears. Bear in mind that I play on PVE, not PVP, so I’m not using that to fight other people. Then they nerfed it so hard, it became completely useless. Not somewhat less useful, but completely useless.
Remember when they turned support beams into decorative struts and a lot of people had to redo a lot of their bases? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Oh, here’s another fun one: I spent a boatload of hours farming up all the resources I needed to craft flawless epic heavy DLC armors for 30-ish thralls. I slapped thick armor plating on them and geared them out. Then they adjusted the armor value of all armors and guess what happened with the armor I crafted before? It remained at its lower value!
I could go on, but it’s all beside the point. My reply to @WhatMightHaveBeen means one and one thing only: saying that people will complain again is not a valid argument for starting with a more relaxed cap and tightening it up if needed.
Ehi Funcom, why did you close this ? Follower Cap Yes/No
It was coming out that most people don’t like this new cap as you believed they would: it looks a bit unfair of you to close a thread just cause it was showing you were wrong !
I have read all the posts my issue is that this will make the game more balanced for everyone. IF you all want a huge base have at it I do not care, I can protect my base as I have worked to may myself strong and I will make the thralls I am allowed to have strong by playing the game as it is to be played but not by having those huge thralls counts. I know of players that have hundreds of thralls broke an in a box and throw them on the ground for a raid, the Thralls defend the raid not the players, now I said some ok not all but I think we all forget that even on pvp there are players that have small clans, clans that have no chance again your ton of thralls and they do not want to be a huge clan that just runs over the server and totally takes what they want. I just think the game should be fair for all players not just the big clans with big bases and tons of thralls out as close as you can get them. their are other way to defend , other ways to still have a safe huge base if you need or want a castle other ways then tons of thralls, my opinion only and many smaller clans feel this way, balanced will make it more fun for all and maybe some players will return once its more balanced for all clans.
Balancing the game ? Someone who spent 1000 hours in game will be balanced with someone with 100 hours… lol
Maybe put time limit, so each player can play 1 hour a day.
At the time I’m writing this, there are 1001 posts just in this thread. With the possible exception of Funcom staff whose job is to hang out in these forums, I doubt there’s anyone who has read all the posts. I will freely confess that I haven’t read all of them.
Having said that, I would like to restate yet again that a lot of us are debating the cap not because we want it gone, not because we want to have 400+ thralls in one base, not because we want to place hundreds of thralls to defend from a raid, or any of the reasons you mention in the rest of your comment.
If you’re interested in understanding us better, here’s a post I wrote in which I summarized some of our points, using links to other posts and topics.
This is all hilarious and sad at the same time.
For me, this update is more than welcome, let there be new strategies and a new way to defend your bases.
For pve, 55-100 thralls are more than enough to fill a base with life. i had large bases playing solo and you don’t really need that much, even less now, that thralls are gonna be more powerfull to defend against purges.
BUT, an option to “pick up” a thrall insted of breaking bonds would be appreciated
your Post is here and Moderation is never a Topic for public discussion
What happens with my thralls that is over the cap already?
Check out @Multigun’s dev stream recap, that question is answered there.
It isnt fair. We should level our placed thralls with the new update whats the point of my thralls now
More than 600 days I played every single day without missing 1 day, today after reading announcements I didn’t find the motivation to play. Really sad.
