Edit: after browsing some other comments, apparently some people are entertaining some kind of conspiracy theory that “all the new accounts” are some kind of raid from discord or YouTube.
Let me be clear: I came here after reading the news about this launcher on Funcom’s own website, which brought me to this thread. I was not told to comment against the new launcher, I saw this new “feature” and found it utterly distasteful enough to make an account and comment here.
Maybe people are just sick and tired of this crap. Every company and their mother has a freaking launcher or store or whatever running in the background and people are getting sick and tired of it.
Ask yourself, if you imagine a conspiracy:
Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, the greater Conan community outside of this forum’s tiny minority community (of mostly PvE fanboys) might actually just hate the idea of yet another launcher running in the background? Especially given the possibility for Tencent owning Funcom entirely in the near future?

Please don’t force another launcher on us.
Conan Exiles already takes enough time to load as it is. No other game in my collection takes as long as Conan, except for those with their own launchers.
It’s unnecessary bloat to the run process and game install, while simultaneously being a waste of development energy in a game which is considered seriously unbalanced and broken by the wider survival community.
I like Conan and despite its deep flaws I prefer it over other games like Ark and Rust, and I keep playing because I’m hoping it’ll eventually get better. But the recent news of a DLC map and now a new launcher… its wearing on my patience, and I’m growing tired of waiting for the devs to fix core gameplay issues in the face of these (apparently) greedy and controlling moves.
Funcom, you’re not a AAA studio. You can’t get away with the kind of bs companies like EA and Acti-Blizz can. You can only thrive on good gaming content and community good will.
Turn back, please.
