New ideas for the Keystone!

I think the keystone should be edited. It should still somewhat be the same but a lot better.

Keep whatever cinematic and stuff like that. Then, your character gets back to level 1, and teleports to the beginning of the map. But now, with bonuses. So maybe this time, the player now is able to level up to 70 and be able to repeat this cycle until you reach a new maximum level. Which could be around 100. Of course, you need to be at your level cap to use the item, not as fast as you are level 60.

If you then use the keystone when you are level 100, the keystone gives you a new achievement. You get set back to level 1 once again, this time, with of course, still the level 100 cap, but also with new bonuses. Higher gathering rates and possibly some more health and carry capacity, but not much.

Well, its not the worst idea I’ve heard, I wouldn’t be against it. Though in the past when I have asked whether we could lift the level 60 cap, I’ve been told it was a bad idea to do so. :man_shrugging:

Honestly, I would be happy at this point in just getting a half decent ending of sorts, one worth the time and energy involved in getting to level 60 and obtaining all the artifacts needed to create the keystone in the first place, rather than (SPOILER-ALERT!) just a distant shot of your toon walking off into the desert.

I personally wouldn’t mind something like you have suggested , ‘Dragon’s Dogma’ did something similar as I recall
 (great game that btw)

I always felt they could have connected the Siptah and Exiled lands maps better, perhaps even being able to travel between the two (like you would a map room) The whole server transfer thing seemed very convoluted.

A minor thing, but It kinda bugs me that on Siptah you are walking around with the exiled lands bracelet on, when you supposedly never even got there. In reality, there doesn’t seem to be anything keeping you on Siptah, other than a lack of boats.

You were a slave on your way to the Exiled Lands. I don’t think it’s too big of a stretch to imagine they put the bracelet on beforehand. Though that would require it to be inactive, otherwise you’d die when they got to EL. Then it is somehow activated once you’re there. Waiting until you got there would make more sense.

What little thing bothers me more is that they even bothered to put the bracelet on you when they crucified you and left you to die. I mean, yes, Conan saved you, but what were the odds of that really? (Seeing as Conan has saved thousands of us
I guess the odds are pretty good now that I think about it)

Clearly Thoth-Amon counted on some of us to survive, to find the old relics for him so the Purge could then swoop in and steal them from us. The bracelets also act as insurance against the tiny little chance that some of the survivors might bear a grudge against him and try to return home to exact revenge.

Back on topic: I kinda like the idea of a New Game+. Not sure how it would best be implemented. The benefits shouldn’t be too significant, or it would encourage speedrunning the game for a few times to reach the maximum bonuses, and only then start actually playing. That’s why I don’t think a progressively increasing level cap would be a good benefit.

First of all, welcome to the community!
I am not interested on gaining more levels anymore.
The new attribute system is fantastic and our character is already extremely powerful and gathers materials in literary no time. I remember using black blood tools in the past and using oils and fragments to gain 100k stones in 70 min.
Yesterday it took me 45 min, with a simple star metal pickaxe and i had to repair it maybe twice, which means 18 star metal bars and 4 shaped wood only.
Now you can have armor 1.9k and vitality 900, endure and fight literally everything alone, thralls are burden now in your fights.
So there’s absolutely no reason to gain more lvls, we are already beasts at late game. All we have to do is use bestial potions and prepare our toon for each occasion.

I really love the feeling of progress, there for i find reasons in game to recreate characters and do it all over again.

If you have mastered the game, make friends and jump from server to server to help people, that’s what i do years now and i always enjoy the game.

Know this, every new person you’ll meet, no matter how new or old this person is, will teach you something new, something you fail to see all these years.

I have used Pippi to add a sort of finale.

There is an NPC put here and there (anywhere friendly NPCs camps are), who gives advice much like the staff/Archivist.

In addition he is hanging at the alter where you complete the keystone. He gives some options:

  1. Use the keystone, and be free.
  2. Let him see the keystone to see if he can find a way to unlock EVERYONE’S keystone.

Choosing 2 loads to a custom dungeon, where he is in there offering to let you out/back in. He also offers food/water/healing.

Clearing the dungeon you go to a black room with an “Avatar of Crom” who rewards your tenacity and gives options:

  1. Return to the exiled lands as is with rewards from a nice chest including rare pets and legendary items. You also get a permanent +5 to any one attribute (It doesn’t go over the cap), potentially allowing mastery in all 6 attributes.

or

  1. “End the Game” (Epilogue where the Ghost Fence is destroyed, Exiles are let free and you join Conan for a “Boat ride that definitely won’t get you shipwrecked”.)

all that said
Yeah, I agree the story should get a hard QoL pass and satisfying ending. And/or a final dungeon.
