Okay one more suggestion for the road, then I’ve decided to go on hiatus for a while.
I would like to request that Funcom add a way for players to have our characters escape from the Isle of Siptah, which would allow us to re-roll and create a new character. Much like how we can craft the Keystone, remove the bracelet and escape the Exiled Lands. Im not going to suggest how our characters, could escape in this post. Instead I will throw open the door and let the community kick some ideas around.
I think the question here is if it is worth spending the time to add it?
I don’t know how many who have ever escaped the Exiled Lands, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was less than 1%
Personally I have never done it because what would I gain from it other than just deleting the character
Yes but personally I don’t care much about achievements, and the restart I can do with just the recreate character, I just play on a server until I don’t care about that server anymore then I just leave the character there in hiatus or delete it
I would love that. Playing single player barbaric mode the game has greater meaning if you have this goal. There for I suggest statuettes of all the bosses you fight to gain the materials for the keystone, so I can summon them on Grey pools. But I would love to have an ending sailing on a pirate ship with Capten @Narelle escaping the island. We can’t capture her, she has no loot, at least give us the joy to escape the island with her ship .
Well that would depend who you ask the question to Frillen.
And here is an example of that right here. The answer centers around the fact that different people play the game for different reasons. For example, for yourself and many members of the PvP community, the Journey Steps are are of little consequence or relevance outside of an exp boost to get them to lvl 60 faster then start raiding and dueling. But for a story driven adventuring completionist such as myself and others, they are the closest thing we have to a main questline in Conan Exiles, and we want to complete all of them. It was exactly the same with Skyrim; we like to complete all of the questlines and collect all of the unique weapons and items.
So whether or not one feels it is worth it will undoubtedly vary according to their own subjective preferences or playstyles. And for the record there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way you choose to play either. The name of the game is to have fun, and there is no right or wrong way to have fun.
Don’t worry Oduda I will be back, I’m just going to take a break for a while, as Im feeling kind of burned out. Probably just before the big Christmas update. Besides the way Ive been as of late you could do a better job holding the fort than me.
But your reaction was very kind, thsnkyou for your kind words! Youre a gutsy and firey lass and we’ve shared some great conversations both here in public threads and in PMs on the forum. And I look forward to more in the future.
Perhaps I should explain it better why I wrote the way I did
What I meant is… Is it worth it for Funcom to add an escape feature to Siptah?
The reason I raised that question is because as a company they also have an interest in how valuable a feature that will take X amount of time/money to add is to the game.
As players we are different, you are absolutely right there, some will want an ending scenario for Siptah while others may not care much about it.
Maybe if it was more fleshed out with some kind of reward for the recreation of character after escaping, I could see it be more useful.
Infact there was an interesting discussion about this topic a couple of years ago…
That is at best half right, many pvp players also care about the lore and journey steps besides the xp boost, to think that pvp players only care about how fast they can get ready to fight isn’t entirely true
Oh and just for the record, you seem to always put me in the category of pvp players and to answer that…
No I am not a pvp player, not anymore at least, I did play pvp a looong time ago, but stopped because of offline raiding, cheats, hacks, exploits.
For a very long time I’ve been mostly playing pve on official servers, occassionally pve-c, but still mostly pure pve
